Outlander‘s final season is coming to a close, and the stars are reminiscing over some of their most memorable scenes with TV Insider for the latest edition of Outlander Rewind.
Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, and John Bell, who have entertained viewers as Brianna, Roger, and Young Ian over the years, sat down in the TV Insider Studio to reflect on some of their best character moments, spanning Seasons 2 through 7. As viewers will recall, Skelton and Rankin made their debuts in Season 2’s acclaimed finale, “Dragonfly in Amber,” and Bell first appeared in Season 3 when Claire (Caitriona Balfe) finally reunited with Jamie (Sam Heughan) in the 18th century after 20 years apart.
Now, after putting in their time onscreen, they’re getting nostalgic as Skelton and Bell say, “We’re looking back at some of our favorite moments when we were babies, little babies.”
Kicking things off on the nostalgic look back is the Season 4 scene when Brianna and Roger reunite in the finale episode after he was released by the Mohawk. “Actually, that run Sophie does here is much longer in real life than it is in the show,” Ranking reveals, adding, “She was running.”

“Was it your choice to have the chest hair out?” Bell asks, to which Rankin responds, “I don’t think so… Roger looks kind of vagrant, like he’s been living in the trees,” Rankin points out of his character’s disheveled look. The look is a far cry from how Roger appeared when he first met Brianna in Season 2 as Rankin and Skelton rewatched their onscreen meet-cute.
As the trio discussed the ’60s setting of the scene, Skelton commented on how Rankin received the full final season of episodes to watch, despite not always remembering scenes or moments from the show. “You haven’t seen the finale?” Bell asks, to which Skelton exclaims, “No!” Their ensuing banter is a must-see moment in the full video interview above.
Among other highlights are Bell reliving the moment when Ian shares his first kiss with now-wife Rachel (Izzy Meikle-Small), and a bonding moment between Roger and Ian. Watch the full Rewind above, and don’t miss Skelton, Rankin, and Bell in the series finale of Outlander when it airs on Starz.
