DHS Investigating Threats To ‘Burn Down’ Supreme Court, Murder Justices If Roe v. Wade Overturned

DHS Investigating Threats To ‘Burn Down’ Supreme Court, Murder Justices If Roe v. Wade Overturned

A memo from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) purportedly shows the government is preparing for a wave of violence should the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade, including threats to “burn down or storm” the building itself and even the murder of Supreme Court Justices.

Remarkably, however, the memo reportedly goes on to state that the “mere advocacy” of said violence upon the Supreme Court “does not constitute domestic violent extremism” and is “constitutionally protected.”

Those are both assertions that don’t appear to have been afforded groups in the past regarding the spread of ‘misinformation,’ something DHS has labeled as a “terrorism threat” to the “Homeland.”

The Department of Justice (DOJ) earlier this year also formed a unit to combat domestic terrorism surrounding anti-government groups and white supremacist groups.

DHS Preparing for Violence Against the Supreme Court

The DHS memo, first reported on by Axios, indicates the department “is bracing for a potential surge in political violence” if, as a leaked draft opinion indicates, the Supreme Court does in fact overturn Roe v. Wade.

Some of the threats being made online are downright terrifying. And they’re not only targeting the Supreme Court building and justices but also taking aim at churches and abortion clinics.

“Law enforcement agencies are investigating social-media threats to burn down or storm the Supreme Court building and murder justices and their clerks, as well as attacks targeting places of worship and abortion clinics,” according to Axios.

This is per DHS memo obtained by @axios saying that threats “are likely to persist and may increase leading up to and following the issuing of the Court’s official ruling.”https://t.co/QlqR7mPl21

— Mary Margaret Olohan (@MaryMargOlohan) May 18, 2022

An additional statement in the Axios report leaves readers skeptical as to how serious the DHS is taking these threats of violence against the Supreme Court, however.

“The mere advocacy of political or social positions, political activism, use of strong rhetoric, or generalized philosophic embrace of violent tactics does not constitute domestic violent extremism or illegal activity and is constitutionally protected,” the memo reads according to the outlet.

Violence Has Already Begun

Even before the final ruling from the Supreme Court on abortion has been officially handed down, the violence had begun.

The headquarters of a pro-life group called Wisconsin Family Action was set on fire earlier this month and vandalized with a message that read: “If abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either.”

Officials were investigating a fire at the headquarters of anti-abortion group Wisconsin Family Action that they said was arson. The building was spray-painted with the words, “If abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either.”@7NewsDC DETAILS: https://t.co/8BgeyneqnA pic.twitter.com/7nUzPmj0gl

A pro-abortion crowd prompted a police response in Los Angeles earlier in the month as well.

And, of course, far-left groups published maps showing the locations of the homes of Justice Samuel Alito, author of the draft decision, and fellow Justices Amy Coney Barrett, John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Clarence Thomas, and Neil Gorsuch.

Dozens descended upon the homes of more than one of these justices.

Still, according to DHS, a “generalized philosophic embrace of violent tactics does not constitute domestic violent extremism.”

Earlier this year, that same agency issued a new terrorism threat summary report focusing on the spread of “misinformation.”

The “Summary of Terrorism Threat to the U.S. Homeland” bulletin, published in February, indicates the United States is in a “heightened threat environment,” in particular against ‘false narratives’ about COVID.

COVID misinformation = terrorism. Threatening to burn down the Supreme Court? Not so much?

So, a few of us are wondering, @DHSgov …

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MINDS? https://t.co/lxSloorM4W pic.twitter.com/6ZGcuTKn0F

— Ron Coleman (@RonColeman) February 8, 2022

Oh, lest we forget that concerns about election fraud are also terrorism. This, according to the DOJ, who announced the formation of a unit to combat domestic terrorism within days of the anniversary of the Capitol riot.

“We face an elevated threat from domestic violent extremists – that is, individuals in the United States who seek to commit violent criminal acts in furtherance of domestic social or political goals,” Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen told the Senate Judiciary Committee at the time.

“Domestic violent extremists are often motivated by a mix of ideologies and personal grievances,” added Olsen. “We have seen a growing threat from those who are motivated by racial animus, as well as those who ascribe to extremist anti-government and anti-authority ideologies.”

This will surely have no negative repercussions https://t.co/9rQTbVzmHZ

— Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) January 12, 2022

House Republicans released documents provided by a whistleblower that allegedly show the FBI investigated parents critical of local school boards using “counterterrorism tools.”

The documents purportedly show the FBI created a tag for threats against teachers and school administrators.

— House Judiciary GOP (@JudiciaryGOP) November 16, 2021

President Biden recently had the gall to suggest pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro-limited government, MAGA (Make America Great Again) Republicans represented “the most extreme political organization in American history.”

Biden, saying over 70 million Americans are domestic terrorists: “What are the next things that are going to be attacked? Because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history — in recent American history.” pic.twitter.com/cl5YyorX9K

— Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) May 4, 2022

In reality, with his administration attacking political opponents as extremists and white supremacists while simultaneously going half-assed against actual abortion extremists, the most extreme political organization in America just might be the federal government itself.
