Red Hot Chili Peppers are to be part of the voice cast in season four of Netflix’s animated show Love, Death + Robots.
Season four of the hit anthology series has been newly confirmed for a May 15 launch, and will have 10 episodes. In the premiere episode, titled ‘Can’t Stop’, marionette puppet versions of the Red Hot Chili Peppers are directed by David Fincher, in a spin on the band’s 2003 performance at Slane Castle.
Elsewhere, an episode titled ‘The Screaming of the Tyrannosaur’ features YouTuber Mr Beast hosting a gladiator contest with mutant competitors riding dinosaurs. Meanwhile, John Oliver is a robotic butler in an episode called ‘The Other Large Thing’.

The first trailer for Love, Death + Robots season four was released earlier this month, and offers viewers quick glimpses at what they can episode from the 10 upcoming short stories, featuring giant babies, cyberpunk-looking fighters, alien invasions, dinosaurs at war and more.
In an official description of season four, Netflix writes: “Dinosaur gladiators, messianic cats, string-puppet rock stars, it can only be Love, Death & Robots. The fourth volume, presented by Tim Miller (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) and David Fincher (Mindhunter, The Killer), sees Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2, Kill Team Kill) return as supervising director for ten startling shorts showcasing the series’ signature, award-winning style of bleeding-edge animation, horror, sci-fi and humor. Buckle up.”

Among the show’s star-studded cast across its past three seasons were the likes of Michael B. Jordan, Rosario Dawson, Joel McHale, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joe Manganiello, Topher Grace, Seth Green and more.
In other Red Hot Chili Peppers-related news, earlier this year, it was reported that the band are looking to sell their recorded music catalogue for US$ 350 million.
Currently, Red Hot Chili Peppers own the masters and rights to all of the 13 studio albums and other releases that have been issued through Warner Music. It is currently unknown whether or not they also own the masters for the first four albums, which were released through EMI.
They also performed at the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles in January to raise funds for the city following the devastating wildfires that swept several neighbourhoods earlier in the year. The band have yet to share any upcoming plans.
