Green Goblin returns in Spider-Man‘s new appearance, with the villain’s design drawing back to his classic look, and a fight happening between Norman Osborn and two Marvel heroes. When it comes to live-action Spider-Man movies, there has been no shortage of good villains. Be it in Tobey Maguire’s original trilogy, Andrew Garfield’s duology, or Tom Holland’s MCU Spider-Man films, the villains succeeded.
That said, no Spider-Man movie villain has been better than Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin. Dafoe truly brought out the best in the Green Goblin/Spidey arch-nemesis dynamic, doing so for two different Spider-Men. After his MCU role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Green Goblin is unlikely for upcoming Marvel movies. That is where a TV show comes in.
Marvel Has Revealed What Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4’s Green Goblin Looks Like
While Spider-Man: Brand New Day will only swing into theaters next year, arriving on July 31, 2026, Marvel fans can check out a new wave of Spidey content right now. Spider-Man’s returning TV show is perfect for families to watch together, as Spidey and his Amazing Friends is a series geared towards younger audiences. Parents can watch with their kids.
It is a great introduction to the Marvel universe, featuring heroes and villains from all over the franchise. Spidey and his Amazing Friends season 4 recently arrived on Disney+ on November 26. The new batch of Spider-Man adventures includes Green Goblin’s return, with Spider-Man and Captain America teaming up against him. Norman Osborn even manages to briefly steal Captain America’s shield.
As far as Green Goblin’s design goes, the Spider-Man villain looks amazing. The character has green skin, pointy ears, shoulder pads, knee pads, and purple clothing from his head to his feet. The design works for the cartoon’s lighter tone and makes Green Goblin look Goblin-like, fittingly. It is very different from his live-action appearances.
How Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4’s Green Goblin Compares To Other Versions Of The Marvel Villain?
Given the popularity of the Spider-Man movies, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin has become synonymous with the character. Spidey and his Amazing Friends season 4’s Green Goblin look differs from his designs in both the Tobey Maguire trilogy and the MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the first, Norman Osborn wore green armor and a distinctive helmet.
In the MCU, the character ditched the helmet and added some elements he scavenged, such as a purple hoodie and a brown pouch. The Spider-Man TV show’s Green Goblin is closer to Marvel Comics than the live-action series.
The main difference is that Green Goblin wears a mask and a suit for his green skin and Goblin-like look in the comics, instead of it being part of him like in the Spider-Man show.
