Gerard Butler has slammed the breaks on Plane 2.
Released in 2023, Plane gives audiences exactly what’s on the tin – an action thriller revolving around a plane and its former-military pilot, Butler’s Brodie Torrance. The film was a hit, and a sequel was put into development shortly afterwards, focusing on Mike Colter’s supporting character, Louise Gaspare.
Now, speaking with The Direct, Colter confirms that the Plane sequel is dead. According to the star, the follow-up stalled because Butler, who was slated to produce the film and not star in it, pulled out of the project only weeks before filming. Check out Colter’s comment below:
“It just, last-minute, Gerard [Butler] decided he didn’t want to go forward with it and there wasn’t a lot of discussion about it. He just… two weeks out, he pulled out and we were sort of left trying to figure out what to do. And eventually, that dissolved.”
More to come…
