Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 5-18-26 Celebrate Steve And Kayla While Half of Salem Is Miserable

Who said happy couples kill soaps?

Steve and Kayla haven’t always been happy, of course, but they are one of Salem’s longest-running, most popular couples for a reason, and they deserve the trip down memory lane they’re about to take.

The happy couple stands in stark contrast to several others, as Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-18-26 also promise heartache for some of our other favorite couples.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

Abe and Paulina’s Angst Is Expected, Though Annoying

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-18-26 cause heartache for Abe and Paulina now that Lexie is alive, which isn’t at all surprising.

After all, Lexie is the mother of Abe’s child and the woman he mourned for years before even considering starting a new relationship.

Paulina is already convinced that Abe will choose Lexie over her and tells him this week that she’s moving out of their home. Of course, Abe likely hasn’t thought that far ahead and won’t want her to leave.

Abe and Paulina’s relationship was hard-won. Paulina had to prove to him that she was no longer the woman who made secret plans to bulldoze Horton Town Square before he would even consider being with her.

And it wasn’t that long after they were married that Whitley kidnapped an amnesiac Abe and convinced him that she was his wife.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

So now that Abe and Paulina are finally solid, the last thing he wants is to lose her — but he can’t let go of Lexie, either.

The only surprise twist here is that Lexie insists on meeting Paulina. I’m not quite sure why, but the two will come face-to-face later in the week.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-18-26 don’t say much about what will happen between the two women. Paulina doesn’t seem inclined to fight for Abe, but I wonder if this could end up with Lexie and Paulina both wanting to bow out and let Abe be with the other woman.

Soap operas may be full of the most ridiculous plotlines ever, but we still take them seriously around here.
If you love the way we write about all of your favorite shows, don’t miss our newsletter. Hit the button on the top right to subscribe.

Of course, Abe should be the one to decide who he wants to be with. Neither of the women should be choosing for him.

But Abe can’t decide. I’m still laughing at Paulina asking if they would be “three in the bed like the grandparents in Willy Wonka,” but she has a point.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

Lexie is only supposed to be in Salem for five months total, and I lost track of how much time we wasted on shots of her unconscious body in the secret room, so I’m not sure how much longer she has.

I’m curious whether she leaves town or if the resurrection cure is only temporary. Either way, it seems likely that Abe will reconcile with Paulina in the end, which makes the angst now somewhat tedious.

It’s like when characters mourn someone who we all know isn’t dead. It’s a waste of emotional energy to get invested in it when you know the “dead” person will turn up again soon.

Meanwhile, I’m Surprisingly Sad About Gabi and Philip

Neither one of them used to be my favorite character, but I was enjoying them together despite knowing that Gabi had this huge secret that would blow the whole thing up sooner or later.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-18-26 include Philip yelling at Gabi in the Square that it is over forever and that he never wants to see her again.

Things were going so well for these two that this blowup makes no sense.

What do you think happens between Philip and Gabi?
Hit the comments with your thoughts. Don’t forget to share this article with your friends and family.

I keep hoping this is a ruse to trick someone else. I can’t imagine how or why, so that’s probably wishful thinking on my part.

The other possibility, of course, is that Philip finally finds out about Gabi and Tony’s partnership that unmasked his forgery of Victor’s codicil.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

Theo knows about it and has stopped himself from telling anyone in the past, so it may slip out.

Additionally, Tony is determined to put Gabi in the CEO seat for some reason, and she wasn’t interested in competing with Philip.

So Tony could make the truth known to Philip, removing Gabi’s reason for refusing his job offer.

It also might have to do with Gabi’s latest plan to interfere with Ari and Liam. She’s supposed to make Liam an offer this week, and Philip had already made it clear that his opinion was that Gabi should leave that situation alone.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers Promise Another Big Return While Steve and Kayla Celebrate

(Peacock/Screenshot)

There is movement on several stories, including Lani telling Joy to give Chanel space, Amy finally mourning Sophia, and Kristen pressuring Xander to kill EJ. But one of the biggest Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-18-26 is that Jack returns to Salem to pay a visit to Gwen.

I wonder if he’ll have a talk with his old pal, Xander, and try to convince Xander not to keep using Gwen for no-strings-attached sex when she’s developing feelings for him.

More importantly, I hope Jack will share scenes with JJ — Days of Our Lives too often forgets that Jack and Jennifer have a son — and with Steve and Kayla.

I hate when characters get stuck in this narrow silo when they’re supposed to have family in Salem.

Jack doesn’t appear to be bringing Jennifer with him, so she won’t be able to start any more trouble with Cat.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

I wonder if Jack will find out about Chad and Belle’s dinner date this week and report back to his wife.

What excites or infuriates you about Days of Our Lives during the week of 5-18-26?

Let us know in the comments, and don’t forget to share this article with your friends and family so they can join the conversation.

Vote in the poll below for your favorite spoiler.

If you enjoyed this article, check out the rest of our soap opera coverage.

These Days of Our Lives spoilers will air on Peacock during the week of 5-18-26. New episodes drop on weekday mornings at 6/5c.
