The ERTC is a refundable tax credit available to businesses and non-profits that suffered a revenue decline or were impacted by governmental mandates during the pandemic.
The credit does not need to be repaid, and companies may still qualify if they receive Payroll Protection Program funding. The credit is up to $5,000 per employee for 2020 and $21,000 per employee for 2021. A business qualifies if it had a drop in revenue of 50% or more in any quarter of 2020 or 20% or more in any quarter of 2021 or was affected by governmental mandates that caused a partial or full shutdown.
