The remaining 11 contestants on Nation’s Dumbest went head-to-head once again in hopes of being the next person sent home in the competition during the July 22 episode. On this game show, hosted by Jack Whitehall, you don’t want to make it to the end, as the last person standing is officially declared the “nation’s dumbest.”
The way to avoid having that happen is to win the weekly final exams. The contestants have a chance to earn extra lives in the trivia test by completing challenges beforehand. Every week starts with a logic test, and this one required the stars to figure out which of 12 lightbulbs, which were obstructed from their view while they held down the button that lit them up, was faulty. They were given a series of props to work with to solve the puzzle in two minutes or less, but they couldn’t stack the props on the button to hold it down.
Jon Heder was first to figure out that he had to hold down the light switch for a few seconds, then race to the other side of the wall and feel all the lightbulbs. The one that hadn’t warmed up was the faulty one. JoJo Siwa also completed the task, along with Steve-O, Ice-T, Andrew Yang, and Carmen Electra. Those six ended the round with three stars, while the rest (Anthony Michael Hall, Drew Pinksy, Chase Hudson, Hilaria Baldwin, and Matt Leinart) all fell down to just one star.
Next up, it was back to the classroom, where the contestants had to wear helmets with balloons that inflated while Whitehall asked them general knowledge questions. The balloons kept inflating until they answered a question correctly, and those whose balloons popped lost a star. The stars who survived the balloon pop were Pinsky, Electra, Leinart, Siwa, and Baldwin.

By the end of round two, only Electra and Siwa held three stars (the maximum). Yang, Pinsky, Baldwin, Ice-T, Heder, Leinart, and Steve-O had two stars, and Hall and Hudson had just one (the minimum).
For the team challenge, the players were split into two groups and had to stand on a hanging beam for a spelling bee. They had to spell out words, with each team member guessing a letter. Every letter guessed wrong caused the beam to retract, knocking one person off. Whichever team lost four players first failed.
Siwa, Hudson, Steve-O, Pinsky, Hall, and Yang won, and after round three, the players with three stars were: Yang, Pinsky, Steve-O, and Siwa. Hall, Hudson and Electra finished the round with two stars, while Baldwin, Ice-T, Heder, and Leinart were left with one. This is where they all stood going into the final exam.
After getting the first question wrong, Ice-T and Baldwin were the first eliminated, which meant they’re still in the running to become “nation’s dumbest.” Leinart and Hudson were next to go, followed by Hall, Electra, and Heder. Steve-O went back to the classroom next, then Lang, and then Steve-O.
It all came down to Pinsky and Siwa. Pinsky answered the question, “What is the largest land animal native to North America?” correctly (bison), while Siwa did not. Pinsky, who found out he had just welcomed a grandchild, officially graduated and was (happily) eliminated from the competition.
