Days of Our Lives Spoilers for the week of 8-05-24: Are Chad And Jack On A Wild Goose Chase?

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-05-24 promise Jack and Chad will make a shocking discovery in Poplar Bluff.

Their search for Abigail still seems silly, or at least, based on the flimsiest of evidence. All they have is a video showing a random woman from the back who has a similar hairstyle to Abigail.

Still, they have to start somewhere, and even if the woman isn’t Abigail, they might end up rescuing a kidnap victim. It doesn’t make sense that Clyde would lead them toward some other hostage that they don’t know is missing, but anything is possible in Salem.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-05-24 include Jack and Chad in Poplar Bluff, Stephanie's heartbreak, and more.

The Abigail Mystery Won’t End Anytime Soon

Days of Our Lives Spoilers For The Week of 8-05-24 Are Vague

Days of Our Lives doesn’t generally resolve stories quickly, and this one’s just begun. Still, Chad and Jack have to make some progress or there’s not much point to their trip to Poplar Bluff.

Related: Days Of Our Lives: 13 Things That Only Happen In Salem

The two spoilers related to this storyline suggest that they will find somebody in the room they broke into during the Friday cliffhanger, but that a different person will be spying on them.

One fan theory suggests that Jack and Chad will find Jennifer’s supposedly-dead mother, Laura Horton, who Gwen supposedly killed over two years ago.

Theresa is in tears as she contemplates her future on Days of Our Lives
(Peacock/Screenshot)

It wouldn’t make any sense for Clyde to be holding onto her, but anything’s possible in Salem, and Laura returning would be an interesting plot twist.

Not only would it give Jennifer every reason to return to Salem if her mother turned out to be alive, but it would also mean Jack could forgive Gwen for her many sins.

While Gwen isn’t a popular character and doesn’t add much to the show, there have been several references to her recently.

Emily O’Brien’s run as Theresa is over now that Theresa pled guilty to kidnapping, so she could return as Gwen to deal with the fallout of Laura’s non-death.

Marlena Worries After Hearing Steve’s News

What’s Next In The New Search For John?

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-05-24 have Marlena worrying about John’s fate, but that’s not enough.

Related: These 19 TV Characters Desperately Need Therapy

Steve said he was going back to Greece, so hopefully he’ll get some more information soon.

Marlena sitting around worrying won’t help bring John home. It would be a great reversal of the usual Marlena/John trope if she went with Steve to find him.

Jack and Chad discover a familiar face on Days of Our Lives during the week of 8-05-24
(Peacock/Screenshot)

Jack And Chad Find A Familiar Face In Poplar Bluff

It’s Unlikely To Be Abigail, But Who Is It?

As discussed above, this Days of Our Lives spoiler for the week of 8-05-24 could mean anything.

The “familiar face” doesn’t have to be Abigail. Maybe someone else is also searching for her or has some other reason to be in Poplar Bluff.

Considering how disappointing an exit Bo and Hope had last time around, it would be awesome if it was one of them, though that’s probably asking for too much.

Still, I’m willing to bet that a random person from the past is in that room and that the mysterious woman, whether or not she’s Abigail, is sneaking around spying on the would-be detectives.

Stephanie turns to Alex in her heartbreak on Days of Our Lives during the week of 8-05-24.
(Peacock/Screenshot)

Stephanie And Alex Bond Over Their Recent Heartbreaks

They Shouldn’t Go Beyond Friendship

Maybe it’s just me, but Stephanie’s latest boyfriend dying is very different from Alex learning his new bride was a golddigger and fraudster who tricked the world into thinking Alex was the Kiriakis heir.

Related: 23 TV Couples Who Split For The Sake of Drama

I’d rather Stephanie turn to Chad. Now that the love of her life has passed away (assuming Everett is really dead), she should understand why Chad didn’t want to move on so quickly from Abigail’s death.

Unfortunately, Chad is still in Poplar Bluff, so Alex it is. Let’s hope they at least stay away from grief sex!

Sarah and Xander will finally get married on Days of Our Lives during the week of 8-05-24
(Peacock/Screenshot)

Xander and Sarah Finally Get Married

These Two Will Really Tie The Knot

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-05-24 promise that Xander and Sarah will get married.

These two will actually tie the knot. Yay!

However, it wouldn’t be Salem without their wedding nearly getting derailed, so there will probably be some drama that’s easily resolved.

Fiona and Brady are continuing to have an alcohol-fueled affair while pretending they are working a 12-step program, so they’re prime candidates for disruptions and delays before Sarah and Xander finally say their I Dos.

Abe and Kate Offer Leo A Job On Body & Soul

He’s Perfect For It, But Who’s Working At The Spectator?

Leo Stark is the perfect person to star in Body & Soul. He’s over the top and sometimes funny as it is, so his talents are wasted at the newspaper.

Related: Blending Reality: TV and Movies’ Best Meta Performances

But who is working at the Salem Spectator?

Xander sold his half to Jack, who promptly went out of town with Chad in search of Abigail. Everett is dead. Nicole and Eric moved to France, leaving “Lady Whistleblower” as the sole Spectator employee.

Brady realizes Tate is in town on Days of Our Lives during the week of 8-05-24
(Peacock/Days of Our Lives)

The Jig May Be Up For Holly and Tate

Brady Realizes His Son Is Still In Salem

According to Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-05-24, Brady is surprised to discover Tate is in Salem instead of at camp.

This likely means that Brady has sobered up, at least for the moment. Still, Tate has no reason to listen to his opinion if Brady is getting drunk and sleeping in the same bed as Fiona (even if it is platonic at the moment.)

This story sounds like a bunch of tired TV tropes waiting to happen. Brady may find out because he literally bumps into Tate (hopefully not while drunk) or jealous Sophia might tell him to cause trouble.

Either way, while Tate’s carefree summer days are over, his determination to be with Holly isn’t, so Brady’s opposition will only make Tate more hellbent on doing what he wants.

Stefan considers coming clean to Gabi on Days of Our Lives during the week of 8-05-24
(Peacock/Screenshot)

Stefan Considers Coming Clean With Gabi

This Would Probably Blow Up In His Face

Stefan coming clean with Gabi is both the best and worst idea possible.

Related: 17 Best Soap Opera Recasts

Gabi will flip out and the couple will likely break up, at least temporarily. And when Gabi is angry, she goes into revenge mode, which isn’t good news for anybody.

Still, secrets always come out in Salem, and with Connie holding onto intel about the affair, it’s only a matter of time before Gabi learns the truth from someone else (if she doesn’t know it already.).

Johnny and Chanel have an uncomfortable encounter with Connie on Days of Our Lives during the week of 8-05-24,
(Peacock/Screenshot)

Johnny and Chanel Have An Uncomfortable Encounter With Connie

Will They Be The Serial Killer’s Latest Victim?

Ugh, no! Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 8-05-24 say that Johnny and Chanel will cross paths with Connie, and it won’t be pretty.

I detest these serial killer stories. I’m still coping with Paige’s unnecessary death at Ben Weston’s hands, and that was in 2015!

Connie better leave Johnny and Chanel alone.

The best-case scenario is that they realize something is strange because of how Connie is acting. If this encounter leads to her downfall and not to the deaths of two young people who have been through more than enough, that’s acceptable.

Jada has a strange encounter with
