Big Brother Spoilers: Veto Winner Revealed, but a Game-Changing Power Is Unleashed

Is anyone else getting the impression that Big Brother Season 28 is turning into a steamroll, with one side of the house in power all season long?

We’re heading into our third week of reality TV alums Angela, Dee, and Rick staying safe because their ally, Kamu, won the third Head of Household competition of the season.

On Friday, Kamu nominated Latrice, Lyric, and Mallory for eviction, but the plan is to save Lyric and replace her with Jason.

(CBS/Screenshot)

Thankfully for Jason, he clocked onto the plan very quickly and is desperate to be picked to play in Saturday’s competition so he can secure his safety and force Kamu to nominate someone else.

The good news for Jason is that he knows the house is against him, and he’s not willing to roll over and admit defeat.

The odds are stacked against him, but even if he winds up on the block, he did defeat Rome and Melody during last week’s Big Brother Blockbuster.

Could Jason turn into the Tucker of Big Brother Season 28?

That’s definitely a possibility, but he’ll need to cultivate connections and cut some deals if he wants to advance much further into the competition.

One competition loss could be his undoing, which would be unfortunate if he does manage to put together a good run of wins.

Big Brother Time Capsule Gives One Player Too Much Power

So, the plan is in motion, and it will all come down to who is picked to play in the competition alongside Kamu, Latrice, Lyric, and Mallory.

Mallory has also proven to be a competition threat, so if she wins and takes herself off the block, there’s no way Jason won’t take a trip to the block on Monday.

Elsewhere on Friday, the Big Brother Time Capsule results played out, with Rick becoming the second winner of the season.

But instead of losing the competition for the power like Angela did last week, the Survivor alum aced it and won — wait for it — a Diamond Power of Veto.

This is an insane twist because it gives Rick the opportunity to take someone down and choose the replacement nominee.

That’s a lot of power, and even worse, it’s good for the next six rounds.

(CBS/Screenshot)

That means Rick is about to get even more cutthroat as he tries to stay off the block and hold on to this power.

He wasted no time telling Dee about it, meaning he’s very likely open to using it on her if she’s ever in a pinch.

But the fact that he’s keeping this from Angela and his other allies could come back to haunt him.

Who’s to say his fellow allies won’t respond by nominating him the following week if they discover that he hasn’t been transparent with them?

(Evan Mulling ©2026 CBS Broadcasting, Inc.)

The power is a bit of a double-edged sword because if Rick has to whip out the Veto, people will be well aware that he hasn’t been truthful with them.

Maybe the best play would have been for this Veto to work without the person using it having to unmask their identity to the house.

But I guess that would have been too much power.

Rick winning this also means the veterans have even more power in the game, adding to my worry that this is going to turn into a steamroll season.

The best seasons of Big Brother are the ones where the power shifts week to week, forcing each side to play the game instead of getting too comfortable.

Right now, it feels like the same group of players is calling the shots every week.

Can the Veto Winner Shake Things Up?

The feeds went down Saturday afternoon, and when they returned, Lyric was revealed to have won the Golden Power of Veto.

Shocker, right? Not really. But hey, there may still be some drama over the next few days.

(Evan Mulling ©2026 CBS Broadcasting)

What are your thoughts on the veto winner and how it plays into Kamu’s plans for the week?

Do you think Jason can somehow survive another week, or is the plan to backdoor him simply too strong?

And are you happy that Rick won the Diamond Power of Veto, or are you worried that the reality tv veterans now have even more control over the game?

Let’s keep the conversation going — it’s the only way the good stuff survives.
