Wax London’s Autumn ’26 collection, titled ‘Bridging the Divide’, arrived earlier this month, and it’s one of the more considered outings from the London label in a while. The premise is simple: old meets new, workwear sits next to soft tailoring, and texture does most of the talking. It’s arriving in two drops, and drop one is where the season’s strongest pieces live.
We’ve spent time with six items from the range ahead of colder weather setting in. Here’s what’s worth your attention, and what to know about sizing before you buy.
The Collection, In Brief
‘Bridging the Divide’ leans into contrast. Heritage workwear shapes sit alongside softer tailoring, and the palette (brown, plum, burgundy, charcoal, with the odd flash of red) is built for layering rather than standing alone. Wool blends, tweeds, brushed yarns and jacquards do the heavy lifting on texture, which is where Wax has always been strongest.
Outerwear gets the most attention this season, including a first foray into Japanese selvedge denim through a partnership with Kaihara Denim in Fukuyama, Hiroshima. Knitwear, denim and trousers have all been expanded too, with the brand calling this its strongest trouser range yet. Having tried the Malham below, that claim holds up.
What We Tried
Corey Shirt in Black and Ecru Mini Check
A quiet, useful shirt. The mini check reads as texture rather than pattern from a distance, which makes it easy to layer under a jumper or gilet without competing for attention. The revere collar and convertible button-and-loop fastening give it a bit more character than a standard overshirt, and the relaxed fit works loose or tucked.
Gower Gilet in Oatmeal and Multicolour Check
New for this season and one of the more useful additions to the range. Cut from a lightweight Italian wool blend with kangaroo-style pockets and an unlined body, it sits in that transitional space between a waistcoat and a proper outer layer. The check is bold without tipping into costume territory, and it layers cleanly over the Corey shirt or under the Marty jacket.
Walker Cardigan in Red Fluffy Wool
Wax’s bestselling cardigan shape, now in a brushed wool and mohair blend with real depth to the colour. The V-neck and button-through front keep it looking intentional rather than lounge-adjacent, and the fluffy handle gives it a warmth that belies how light it actually is. Genuinely one of the better pieces in the range for anyone building out a knitwear rotation.
Wilde Crewneck in Orange Fluffy Wool
Wax’s staple jumper shape, and it earns that status. The wool and mohair blend gives it a soft, brushed finish, and the relaxed fit with ribbed neckband, hem and cuffs makes it a genuine everyday piece rather than a statement one. The orange colourway is punchier than most of the collection, which makes it a useful anchor for an otherwise muted autumn wardrobe.
Malham Trouser in Navy Wool Blend
This is where the collection’s “strongest trouser range yet” claim is most obvious. The Malham is cut wide and straight, but Wax has resisted the urge to let that read as baggy, which is where a lot of other brands lose the plot chasing the wide-leg trend. The single pleat and half-elasticated waistband give it structure and comfort in equal measure, and the flannel-weight wool blend has real substance to it. If you’ve been let down by straight-leg trousers going shapeless on other labels, these are worth trying.
Marty Jacket in Dusty Brown Boucle Wool
Designed to sit between a cardigan and a jacket, and it does exactly that. The bobble-textured wool blend has real heft to it, the collarless design keeps it from reading as too formal, and the corozo nut buttons are a nice, quietly sustainable detail. It’s the most expensive piece here, but also the one that will get the most repeat wear once the temperature properly drops.
Fit and Sizing Notes
A few things worth knowing before you order. Wax London tends to run smaller than most comparable brands, so sizing up is generally the safer call, particularly on the knitwear and the Corey shirt. The trousers are the exception: the Malham’s cut is genuinely well judged as it is, so there’s less need to compensate there.
More broadly, the quality-to-price ratio across this collection is consistently strong. That’s been true of Wax London for a while now: the fabrics feel considered rather than cost-cut, and the finishing on pieces like the Marty and the Malham holds up to close inspection in a way that isn’t always guaranteed at this price point.
The Verdict
‘Bridging the Divide’ is a confident, well-edited collection, and these six pieces are a fair representation of why. The Gower gilet and Malham trouser are the standouts for anyone building a capsule around the season, while the Walker and Wilde knits are safe, repeatable buys that will earn their place quickly. Buy a size up on the shirt and knitwear, trust the fit as given on the trousers, and you’re set for the months ahead.
