Les Deux Review: How Two Strangers Built a Global Menswear Movement

We independently evaluate all recommended products and services. Any products or services put forward appear in no particular order. if you click on links we provide, we may receive compensation.

Some brands are born from ambition. Others are born from something far more powerful — belief. Les Deux began not in a studio or showroom, but in a Copenhagen bar, when two strangers from completely different worlds shared one simple idea: to build something together. From that moment, a T-shirt stitched with military patches became the seed of a global movement in modern menswear — one defined by unity, craftsmanship, and quiet confidence.

Brand Overview

“IN THIS CULTURE, IN THIS FAMILY — TOGETHER, WE ARE STRONGER.”

– Andreas von der Heide, Co-Founder of Les Deux

That single line from Andreas captures everything Les Deux stands for. Founded in Copenhagen in 2011, the brand wasn’t built on hype, but on humanity — a belief that real strength comes from collaboration, not competition.

What began as a handmade T-shirt adorned with military patches has evolved into a global label that merges preppy sophistication with urban grit. Yet, behind the design lies something deeper: belonging. Les Deux has always been inspired by people — by community, by teamwork, by the belief that when different perspectives meet, something greater emerges.

Through its Legacy program, the brand extends that philosophy beyond fashion, supporting schools for Syrian refugees and social initiatives for young people around the world. Every collection, every garment, carries the same DNA — thoughtful, refined, and purposeful.

Les Deux isn’t just a brand. It’s proof that when culture meets character, style becomes more than expression — it becomes connection.

The Products

Les Deux Review - Wren Hiking Boots

The Wren Leather Hiking Boot is a masterclass in craftsmanship. Handmade in Portugal from A-grade cow leather, these boots redefine rugged sophistication. From the first step, they feel grounded yet refined — true to size, extremely comfortable, and beautifully built.

The paracord laces and metal eyelets nod to their utilitarian roots, while the padded collar and memory-foam insole provide comfort most hiking boots dream of. I was most impressed with these — they’re arguably more stylish than Diemme’s offerings and carry the kind of weight and polish that makes you want to wear them everywhere.

The Gilbert Crewneck Knit delivers texture and tone in abundance. Made from a luxurious wool-alpaca blend, it feels premium and looks effortlessly smart. The brushed finish adds a fuzzy warmth that’s perfect for cooler months.

However, the fit wasn’t flawless for me personally (I’m 5’9”). The neckline sat slightly high and the sleeves ran a bit long. Still, the quality is undeniable — heavy-gauge construction, rich melange yarn, and a colourway that works with everything. For taller builds, it’s a standout. For everyone else, it’s still an elevated essential.

Think Aimé Leon Dore had a baby with Barbour — that’s the Montana Jacket. Cut from a dry-handle cotton blend with a corduroy contrast collar, it captures both heritage and modernity in a single piece.

What impressed me most was the practicality: functional flap pockets, covered front zip, buttoned cuffs, and — finally — an inside pocket. It’s shocking how rare that’s become. This jacket turns heads without trying too hard. The silhouette is versatile enough for smart or casual wear, and it feels like something you’ll still reach for five years from now.

Les Deux Review - Konrad Shirt

The Konrad Check Flannel Shirt might just be the perfect all-rounder. Crafted from 100% brushed cotton with a subtle mini-check pattern, it hits that balance between rugged and refined.

I sized up to a medium, and the fit was spot-on — flattering, structured, and comfortable. It looks just as good worn open over a tee as it does buttoned under a jacket. The tonal buttons, curved hem, and box-pleat back all reinforce Les Deux’s commitment to quality. This is timeless menswear at its best — unfussy, dependable, and designed to outlast trends.

Final Thoughts

Les Deux is more than a fashion label — it’s a philosophy stitched into every seam. From the handcrafted Wren boots to the faultless Konrad flannel, each piece represents a belief in unity, quality, and quiet confidence.

The story started with one T-shirt and two friends who refused to see difference as division. Today, that same spirit drives an international brand built on respect, resilience, and community.

Les Deux reminds us that when style is rooted in purpose, it becomes something far greater than clothes.
