Is this the Most Exciting NFL Trade Deadline Ever? | Don’t @ Me w/ Dan Dakich
“I think that move’s pretty good. The Quenton Nelson move, I don’t know. I mean, he’s a guard. He’s 30 years old. They gotta pay him. Josh Downs wants out; if Jonathan Taylor gets traded, you know now we’re talking. But, I always think the trade deadline in the NFL is much ado about nothing. But this year I don’t know.”
If that’s the last time we saw Jonathan Taylor in an Indianapolis Colts uniform, it was an ugly ending.
Their AFC South rivals, the Jacksonville Jaguars, wiped the floor with a 42-7 victory just as trade speculation for the star running back has heated up.

The now 2-6 Colts have been making moves during a poor season, albeit without their first-round pick. They just traded away Quenton Nelson, and Taylor remains the most valuable and best player on the roster.

Rumors have swirled that amid sitting in first place in their respective divisions, the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings could land Taylor, who has made three Pro Bowls.
Taylor was bottled up most of the day against Jacksonville, finishing with 23 yards on eight carries and getting saddled with a fumble on a botched trick play. He is the last player to top 100 yards rushing in a game against the Jaguars, accomplishing the feat in the 2024 regular-season finale.
Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdowns, Bayshul Tuten scored twice, and Rayuan Lane returned an interception92 yards for a touchdownwith 10 seconds to play in the second quarter.

Jacksonville’s 28-0 lead was the third-largest advantage at halftime in franchise history. It came five days after the Colts traded two of their best players in Nelson and defensive tackleDeForest Buckner. They have reportedly turned down an offer that circled around a second-round pick.
Indianapolis last won at EverBank Stadium in 2014. The 12-game skid includes a trip to London in 2016. Even during some of the Jaguars’ worst years — a one-win campaign in 2020 and a pair of three-win seasons — they managed to beat the Colts at home.
Daniel Jones completed 19 of 28 passes for 144 yards, with a touchdown to Josh Downs and two interceptions. He was benched in the fourth quarter and replaced by Anthony Richardson.
