James Madison High School in Brooklyn, New York City is temporarily going remote due to the need to accommodate illegal immigrant families.
The move is a result of concerns at a tent shelter that experienced issues due to a storm last month after officials expressed fears that the massive tent could collapse due to current torrential rains and gusting winds.
So they gave kids at the school the boot.
The school will be used as a temporary shelter, and to ensure a smooth transition for the families, students will be attending virtual classes.
JMHS announced the switch to remote learning and said the school would be turned into “a temporary overnight respite center” for the illegal aliens.
“A group of 2,000 illegal aliens are being transferred to NYC and will be sleeping in the school’s gym,” Libs of TikTok wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Americans are being deprived of an education to cater to illegals.”
Parents And Teachers Outraged Over School Prioritizing Illegal Immigrants Over Students
The New York Post conducted extensive interviews with local residents and teachers who are outraged that students are being forced to learn from home while illegal immigrants take over the school.
Even if, as reports seem to indicate, it is only meant to be temporary.
One resident told the newspaper that they believed this was just a test to see if the migrants could be housed in the school for a longer period of time, for instance, over the summer.
“This is f***ed up,” the person said. “It’s a litmus test. They are using a storm, a legitimate situation, where they are testing this out. I guarantee you they’ll be here for the entire summer.”
“Why here?” asked gym teacher Robyn Levy. “Why not send them somewhere where students wouldn’t be disrupted, where students learning wouldn’t be disrupted?”
City Council member Inna Vernikov (R) blasted the move to disrupt the education of students at JMHS.
“Our public schools are meant to be places of learning and growth for our children,” she wrote, “and were never intended to be shelters or facilities for emergency housing.”
Elon Musk Blasts The Move – Warns They’ll Come For Your Homes Next
X CEO Elon Musk warned that – first they’ll come for the schools, then they’ll come for your homes.
“This is what happens when you run out of hotel rooms. Soon, cities will run out of schools to vacate,” he wrote on the platform. “Then they will come for your homes.”
When Libs of TikTok pointed out that this is happening in Massachusetts, Musk responded: “They’ve run out of hotel rooms, are kicking kids out of school for illegal housing and now they want your homes too.”
One doesn’t need to focus on Massachusetts. New York City Mayor Eric Adams already pushed to have residents take illegal immigrants into their private homes.
Mayor Adams said that he wanted to place illegal immigrants in private residences by spotlighting the fact that there are many people in his city who are in dire economic straits.
“There are residents who are suffering right now because of economic challenges,” he said. “They have spare rooms, they have locales.”
City officials said that the high school will be utilized to house illegal immigrants “until any weather conditions that may arise have stabilized and the facility is once again fit for living.”
