CNN’s Don Lemon Demands Media Cover Republicans Differently: They Are A ‘Danger’ To Society

CNN primetime host Don Lemon is demanding the media cover Republicans differently than Democrats, suggesting they are a danger to society and cannot be “coddled.”

It’s a refreshing change for the liberal media to just flat out admit their bias.

Lemon’s comments came amidst an appearance on “New Day” Thursday morning as the discussion pivoted to covering conservatives in the media.

The CNN anchor said he believes giving equal time and coverage to both political parties is a ‘false equivalency.’

“We sit around and we talk about these things and we want to give this false equivalence to Democrats and Republicans. That is not where we are right now,” he claimed. “Republicans are doing something that is very dangerous to our society and we have to acknowledge that.”

Lemon added, “We have to acknowledge that as Americans, we must acknowledge that as journalists because if we don’t, we are not doing our jobs.”

“We want to give this false equivalence to … Republicans.”

He said that with a straight face.

Bitter Don Lemon lashes out on-air seemingly against new CNN boss Chris Licht as the “people who are in charge of what we…the American press puts out” and decries the desire to treat GOP fairly.

Don Lemon: Media Should Cover Republicans Differently

CNN host Don Lemon proceeded to suggest the media should badger guests appearing on their respective shows regarding the Capitol riot and surrounding events, as well as the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

“They have to answer for those questions if they come here on CNN, they must answer for that. If they go on MSNBC, they must answer for that. If they go on ABC, they must answer for that,” he threatened.

“And they cannot expect to be coddled when they go on to a news organization or if they step in front of a crowd of supporters or voters or Americans.”

The real shocker here is that Don Lemon thinks CNN and other news networks currently cover Republicans and Democrats fairly and equally.

“We — we want to give this false equivalence to Democrats and Republicans.”

He’s either a liar or an imbecile. https://t.co/ec4OzihDFD

Lemon has made similar remarks quite recently about how the media should treat Republicans, stating the same ‘false equivalency’ argument and accusing Republicans of “misleading the American people.”

Which, ironically, is what Lemon and his network have been doing for years.

Bless his little ridiculous heart. I am a Republican. Millions of us are Republicans. We aren’t dangerous. We pay taxes. We give to charities. We WORK. We volunteer. And we are conservative. Good Lord he is ridiculous. https://t.co/y7WvrZWMfO

CNN Has Reportedly Considered Firing Partisan Hosts

Surely Don Lemon’s comments will land on the radar of Chris Licht, the new boss at CNN.

Licht, as The Political Insider reported in June, is evaluating whether or not certain on-air talent are too partisan for the network as they try to adapt new ‘values.’

The CNN boss was reportedly “evaluating whether personalities and programming that grew polarizing during the Trump era can adapt to the network’s new priority to be less partisan.”

It doesn’t get much more nakedly partisan than stating your network needs to cover one party negatively.

A poll by the Pew Research Center indicates that, like Don Lemon, many journalists currently live in a bubble that shields them from reality.

That poll reveals that 65% of journalists believe they do a good job of accurately reporting the news while the public disagrees – just 35% of American adults feel the same way.

In that very same survey where newspeople pat themselves on the back for doing a good job of accurately reporting, 55% of journalists also feel that every side does not always deserve equal coverage.

Just 44% say they should always strive to give every side equal coverage.

Journalism used to be a field with some level of integrity, where one strived to expose the corrupt. Now, they are the corrupt.

A striking finding. American journalists no longer subscribe to the view that every side deserves equal coverage. pic.twitter.com/fRuDaaSTGi

Meaning, as absurd as Don Lemon’s remarks on the media and Republicans are, a majority of those in the field of journalism agree with the premise.

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
