Are Elon Musk Protesters The Most Clueless Americans Of All?

Are Elon Musk Protesters The Most Clueless Americans Of All?

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: leftwing Americans are very angry over their own political preferences again.

You may be aware that “protesters” have been “protesting” Tesla dealerships, that celebrities are getting rid of their Teslas, or that some psychos are even shooting at Tesla dealerships.

All very normal, very sophisticated behavior from our cultural betters, obviously. But what accounts for this sudden rage at the guy who formerly was the leftwing technowizard who was going to save the planet from Global Warming?

Are they just confused and clueless?

Vanity Fair gives us a few excellent snapshots: “Nobody voted for Elon Musk,” protestors chanted at the West Village showroom in Manhattan on Saturday.

Oh… is that so? So what? Democrats don’t actually care about that. They didn’t make a peep about the non-President Mr. Magoo, whose office was run by 20 and 30-something staffers. And that was the President.

The federal government’s Office of Personnel Management reports that there were some 2 million federal employees as of 2017. Many of those employees are the bureaucrats who promulgate rules, regulations, etc. with the force of law. (By the way, the Federal Register is now 107,262 pages of regulations. How many of those were passed by Congress?)

Obviously, they’re not elected. So, no, Democrats don’t actually care that Elon is not elected. In fact, they prefer a system of unaccountable bureaucrats making the rules instead of our elected bodies. Why do you think they built that system?

RELATED: Report: $128 Million in Federal Grants Spent on Gender Ideology

Actually, It’s Just Lying

Other cute slogans at the protests include “Oligarchs out, democracy in.”

Again, Democrats don’t actually care about this. How many district attorney positions have been filled behind the might of Soros money? Who did the oligarchs support between Trump and Hillary? Trump and Biden? Trump and Kamala?

They didn’t care then. Because they don’t care. I hope I’m not being too repetitive, but this is something a lot of conservatives don’t seem to understand.

There’s a simple point here: It’s time to stop treating ideas as if they inherently hold equal value. More directly: it’s time to stop caring about the lying.

It’s time to stop engaging with bad faith altogether. The right wastes far too many resources – time, energy, opportunity – arguing against transparent nonsense.

The Democrats do not care about “democracy” or “oligarchs” or any of that. They’ve proven it. Do you see any of them demanding that all laws now go through Congress? Do you see them denouncing George Soros, or Warren Buffett, or Reid Hoffman, or Bill Gates, or Michael Bloomberg. Forbes reports that a whopping 83 billionaires backed Kamala Harris.

The time we waste getting caught up in arguments about obvious falsehoods is an enormous opportunity cost. Instead of wasting time, put it to productive use. Promote your positive vision. Organize with like-minded individuals. Raise money for important races and causes.

Just don’t waste your time. It only goes one way.
