Olivia has been through a lot on Plathville, as she was never accepted into her husband’s family. Her relationship with mother-in-law Kim Plath was so toxic that Kim never let her around Ethan Plath’s younger siblings because she felt that Olivia was a bad influence.
Olivia and Ethan have had severe marriage struggles on Welcome to Plathville. They were newlyweds in season 1 and still appeared to be in the honeymoon phase, as they were constantly happy around each other. Their relationship grew more strained in season 2, as Olivia had dreams of traveling all over the world and living in a bigger city. Meanwhile, Ethan was happy with their life in rural Georgia and was not interested in moving.
