Screen Rant has an exclusive first look at the new Miles Morales Premium Format Figure from Sideshow, based on the beloved Marvel Comics character.
Screen Rant is thrilled to exclusively reveal a first look at the new Miles Morales Premium Format™ Figure by Sideshow. The latest figure in Sideshow’s line of deluxe Marvel Comics statues is inspired by the fan-favorite legacy character and makes a perfect companion for the recently revealed Ghost Spider figure as well.
Plenty of younger Marvel characters have taken on a mantle after its been passed on, or have become a known superhero in an unknown quarter of the multiverse, but few have had the lasting impact that Miles Morales has. Created in 2011 by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli, the Afrolatino teenager first appeared as part of the Ultimate Marvel, replacing Peter Parker after his demise. Since the epic Secret Wars storyline, Miles’ world has merged with Marvel-616, where he joins the superhero ranks of Marvel’s other young vigilantes such as Kamala Khan.
But Miles has appeared in far more than comics, as his popularity and reach have grown immensely in the decade since his creation. Not only has he been incorporated into animated series such as Ultimate Spider-Man and the recent preschooler series Spidey And His Amazing Friends, he also has his own PlayStation videogame. Perhaps most impressively, his film debut took place in Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
As fans await the highly-anticipated sequel to said film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, they can enjoy the next Premium Format™ Figure unveiled by Sideshow Collectibles within the Marvel Comics universe. The specialty manufacturer has plenty of Marvel-inspired figures to their names, of various styles and designs. While Spider-Man is without a doubt the most popular character, Gwen Stacy’s Ghost Spider serves as a perfect duet thanks to her significant role in the Spider-Verse films.
Miles Morales Premium Format™ Figure By Sideshow
Marvel Comics lovers can now enjoy this up close and personal look at the newest statue of Miles Morales, courtesy of Sideshow.
The dynamic new statue depicts the young Miles as he swings over the New York City skyline. One can see the vibrant glow of the city lights reflected on his costume as he web-slings his way home. As often is the case with these gorgeous Sideshow figures, the dramatic forced perspective base gives a spider’s eye view of Miles’ neighborhood, which includes a subway train making its way to the next stop. The mixed media statue combines Miles’ sculpted Spider-suit with a tailored fabric jacket.
