The Bachelorette season 15 winner Jed Wyatt is engaged to Ellen Decker. This follows his brief and infamous engagement to Hannah Brown in 2019.
The Bachelorette‘s Jed Wyatt is engaged to girlfriend Ellen Decker. Jed was a contestant on The Bachelorette season 15, led by Hannah Brown. He ultimately won, proposing to Hannah in the finale. But that was far from the end of their saga.
As Hannah B.’s Bachelorette season aired in summer 2019, Jed earned backlash. The musician appeared to already have a girlfriend, Haley Stevens, while competing on the show. Hannah called off their engagement amid the allegations. In a 2021 tell-all book, she opened up about that difficult situation, and her relationships with runners-up Tyler Cameron and Peter Weber. Meanwhile, Jed still maintains he didn’t cheat. Months after his engagement to Hannah imploded, the singer began dating Ellen in late 2019. Nearly three years later Jed, who accused Bachelorette producers of manipulation, is engaged for a second time.
On Sunday, July 17th, Jed announced his and Ellen’s engagement via Instagram. Revealing he’d proposed in Franklin, Tennessee, Friday, July 15th, he wrote, “every possible second of struggle that led to this moment was worth it.” The 28-year-old called Ellen “the greatest joy of my life,” gushing that his fiancée is “the coolest, most fun, funny, down to earth, hardest working, healthiest eating, routine doing, long walking, breath of fresh air I’ve ever met.” Jed praised their relationship, sharing, “our ability to work through difficult situations has been very impressive. We never turn and run on each other, we face life head on and figure it out.” Seemingly referencing opinions from The Bachelorette fans, he continued, “We had people doubt us, and we would laugh. We had days where we drove each other nuts, and we would always come back to resolve. We’re rooted in a love deeper than anything I could have ever prayed for.”
The podcaster wrote to his 26-year-old future wife, “I am elated to get to spend this life with you…to love you, protect you, support you, and buy you endless amounts of sprinkles.” Finally, he wrote, “Waking up next to that ring on your hand the past couple days has been one of the happiest feelings I have felt in my life. You deserve it all, Ellen.” Jed, who moved in with Ellen in 2020, also posted a carousel of pictures from the big day to accompany the lengthy caption. Fellow Bachelor Nation alums Hannah Godwin, Garrett Powell, and Luke Stone left congratulatory comments for the happy couple.
While it’s been three years since his proposal to Hannah aired, Bachelor Nation is still shook by the fallout from Jed’s win. It still follows him, Hannah, their loved ones, and others from their season. In October 2021, Jed admitted the public split was difficult, but thought both he and Hannah had to go through it. In the strangest twist yet, the God Bless This Mess author’s brother, Patrick Brown, is engaged to Haley Stevens, Jed’s infamous ex. Meanwhile, Hannah, who opened up about Patrick and Haley on her book tour, is currently dating Adam Woolard.
