The finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi on June 22, 2022, included a number of fan service elements and concluded his quest to rescue Leia. It’s been suggested that a second season might be in the works, with the series also leaving out various sequel hooks that have the potential to be expanded upon.
Since the Star Wars franchise has branched out to include various spin-offs, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s events can also shape future shows and films. These range from depicting the fates of characters like Reva Sevander to bridging the canonical events of Star Wars – Episode IV: A New Hope for Luke and Leia, among other possible storylines.
The Path’s Exploits After Reaching Their Destination
The Path were spared of the Empire’s wrath when Obi-Wan opted to face Darth Vader, with the latter redirecting the Empire’s fleet toward him. The rebels are only safe for now, though, since it’s known that the Empire will become even stronger by the events of A New Hope, where the Rebel Alliance’s situation was dire.
Future Star Wars material can depict the struggles of the Path after gaining freedom through Obi-Wan’s efforts. The rebels still have to deal with Tala’s death and are now without Obi-Wan’s guidance. A story about Kawlan Roken’s efforts to lead this group to a safe haven away from the Empire’s reaches could be in the cards.
Leia’s Activities As Princess Of Alderaan
Despite being a child, Leia quickly proved herself to be among the most intelligent characters in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Her bravery was also exceptional, as Obi-Wan and Bail Organa promised Leia that her strong attributes will serve her well as Princess of Alderaan. As a result, she was shown prepared to take on the responsibility by the end of the series.

Fans haven’t gotten a chance to see Leia’s initial days in a leading role as the princess, with A New Hope beginning at a time when Leia had already been a part of the rebels for quite a while. It’s very plausible to see a series dedicated to the teenage Leia’s activities, which can serve as a bridge for Leia’s appearance in A New Hope.
Palpatine’s Distrust In Darth Vader
The series further showed why Darth Vader is such a tragic Star Wars character, with Obi-Wan horrified to hear Vader claim that he was the one who had killed Anakin Skywalker. By the events of Star Wars – Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Palpatine is more than willing to let Luke kill Vader, which can be attributed to his belief that Vader had grown conflicted after meeting Obi-Wan.
Although Palpatine’s decision to kill off Vader also ascribes to the Sith’s “Rule of Two,” he was visibly suspicious of Vader in the finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Since Vader will be appearing in Ahsoka, the series can feature Palpatine’s growing distrust of his apprentice and the reason why he chose to replace him with Luke.
Reva’s Search For A Purpose In Life
While she might not have become the biggest Star Wars villain throughout the course of the series, Reva did achieve a turn to the light side of the Force, unlike many other antagonists. She decided to abandon her bid for revenge against Darth Vader by sparing the life of his son, following which she was encouraged by Obi-Wan to make the best of her newfound freedom.
Since Reva has no chronology to abide by in extended Star Wars media, the character can have an original arc that sees her attempting to find a purpose and a place where she can find peace. She can also be seen in future works as an ally to the protagonists now that she’s abandoned her loyalties to the Empire.
The Continued Activities Of The Inquisitors
There were many predictions for the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale, most of which turned out to be accurate. The Grand Inquisitor and his subordinates didn’t appear as much, though, with the villains still out there but without Obi-Wan to pursue anymore.
Star Wars fans will be aware that the Grand Inquisitor and the Fifth Brother are meant to perish by the events of Star Wars Rebels, but there is a gap between those appearances. Future works can connect both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Rebels, with the Inquisitors’ activities depicted in between. They are much more fearful of Vader in the latter series, so later material should feature the events that made the Inquisitors so much warier of their master.
More Detail Into How Owen And Beru Raised Luke
Owen and Beru proved they loved Luke as their own son in the finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi when they took on Reva to protect him. A New Hope had shown a rather strained relationship between Owen and Luke, as the latter thought his uncle was keeping him bound to Tatooine instead of letting him be free.
Since Obi-Wan Kenobi depicted the Lars’ love for their nephew and adoptive child, the following Star Wars media is set up to portray how they raised Luke into adulthood. This can show the relationship between Luke and his guardians, along with the exact circumstances of their death that occurred off-screen in A New Hope.
Qui-Gon’s Plans For Obi-Wan
Qui-Gon appeared to Obi-Wan in the closing moments of the series, telling his former padawan that they still had a distance to travel. Although it’s likely he just meant that he would accompany Obi-Wan to the latter’s destination, it can also be assumed that Qui-Gon’s Force ghost has a plan for his apprentice to follow.
A second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi is possible, given the cast’s interest to return, with Qui-Gon’s appearance a potential set up for another adventure for the titular protagonist. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan’s interaction wasn’t fully depicted either, which can be explored in future Star Wars material.
