At first glance, this train station may look real, but it was actually created in Unreal Engine 5 by 3D artist Lorenzo Drago, just like this Simpsons: Hit & Run remake. It’s based on the real-life Etchū-Daimon station in Toyama, Japan and lit utilizing Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen, which renders diffuse interreflection with infinite bounces and indirect specular reflections in large, detailed environments.
The computer setup running this tech demo is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor and NVIDIA RTX 2080 graphics card, which is about a mid-tier system. Not only are the graphics photo-realistic, but he also added several atmospheric sounds, including cicadas, a loudspeaker and more. Unlike its predecessor, Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite Virtualized Geometry enables geometry to be much more detailed, while achieving full-resolution shading.
