The original Nintendo Game Boy was released on April 21, 1989 in Japan and since then, several iterations have hit the market, including the Game Boy Advance. Obirux wanted to give the classic handheld game console a somewhat modern makeover in landscape form and the sleek DMG-0B Prototype is the result.
Even though the DMG-0B Prototype may look simple, it did take two original Nintendo Game Boy console shells to complete. The original dot-matrix screen with adjustable contrast dial was removed, along with the PCB, and replaced with an IPS screen to give it a much crisper image. This new screen boasts a hue adjustment that can give it the same greenish look of the original, while giving the option for a clearer monochromatic style as well. Unfortunately, this one-off console has already been sold, but the Analogue Pocket is also another viable option for those interested.
