The New York Times opened a can of worms in a recent interview with self-described “anarchist” Woody Harrelson while promoting his upcoming movie, Champions. Harrelson took the opening to spotlight the “absurdity” of Covid protocols and found an unlikely ally in fellow actor Tim Robbins.
Harrelson, a self-described anarchist, is fed up with the Hollywood double-standard that prioritizes actors while restricting crews. He and Robbins both agree it’s long time that Hollywood end the unjust mandates.

Woody Harrelson Unleashes on Hollywood Covid Protocols
Harrelson, who memorably broke onto the scene in Cheers, has since found superstardom in blockbuster franchises like The Hunger Games, Zombieland, Now You See Me, and more.
His upcoming movie Champions is an independent comedy based on a true story. When asked about his decision to star in a lower budget comedy, Harrelson’s response surprised the Times:
“Now to get an indie done? Especially with all the Covid protocols – which, to me, are rather absurd. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Unprepared for the topic, the Times asked Harrelson to expand on his comment. “What’s absurd about the Covid protocols?”

That was all the invitation Harrelson needed to unleash every pent up frustration he’s been harboring.
The fact that they’re still going on! I don’t think that anybody should have the right to demand that you’re forced to do the testing, forced to wear the mask and forced to get vaccinated three years on. I’m just like, Let’s be done with this nonsense. It’s not fair to the crews. I don’t have to wear the mask. Why should they? Why should they have to be vaccinated? How’s that not up to the individual? I shouldn’t be talking about this [expletive]. It makes me angry for the crew. The anarchist part of me, I don’t feel that we should have forced testing, forced masking and forced vaccination. That’s not a free country. Really I’m talking about the crew. Because I can get out of wearing a mask. I can test less. I’m not in the same position they’re in, but it’s wrong. It’s three years. Stop.
The Times rushed to do damage control by offering the “lesson” to be learned from the pandemic. Harrelson then receives a lecture on how “it turns out most of us are pretty bad at rationally assessing risk and at handling one another’s different comfort levels with risk.”
Shrugging off the government talking points, Harrelson responds, “Yeah, anyway, as an anarchist, I don’t do well with mandates.”

Tim Robbins Backs Up Woody Harrelson
Harrelson’s rant about ongoing Covid protocols in Hollywood draw the attention of The Shawshank Redemption star Tim Robbins.
“Woody is right. Time to end this charade,” Robbins wrote on Twitter.

This isn’t first time Susan Sarandon’s husband question Covid protocols. Robbins sat down with Russell Brand last year to discuss the “science”.
In the interview, Robbins discussed what he referred to as “Orwellian” signs including the changing of policies and definitions that he saw as counter scientific.’
“The WHO changed its protocol on virus outbreaks,” he told Brand. “In the past you locked down the vulnerable, but you let society go on so it can build its herd immunity. This was changed as well. We went into lockdown with healthy people and children.”
The actor recognizes that he is no scientist but simply speaks from the perspective of an educated and interested individual observing how lockdowns and policy impacted our society.

Woody Harrelson Causes Stir with Covid SNL Monologue
Harrelson unleashed his criticism of Hollywood Covid protocols on the Times just before his highly controversial Saturday Night Live appearance.
On February 25, Harrelson took the famous took the famous stage and proceeded to set all political correctness aside in an unflinching monologue about Covid.
“So the movie goes like this,” Harrelson begins.
“The biggest drug cartels in the world get together and buy up all the media and all the politicians and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes. And people can only come out if they take the cartel’s drugs and keep taking them over and over,” the actor continued.
“I threw the script away,” Harrelson quips. “I mean, who was going to believe that crazy idea? Being forced to do drugs? I do that voluntarily all day.”
As you can imagine, the Cheers actor’s SNL monologue brought angry leftists out of the woodwork.

Woody Harrelson Stars In Champions
The movie at the center of Harrelson’s Time interview is based on the true story of a basketball coach with NBA dreams tapped to coach a team of intellectually challenged players with their sights set on winning the Special Olympics.
Harrelson plays coach Marcus Markovich.
The movie’s description reads like the kind of heart-warming story we’d like to see more of in Hollywood:
A former minor-league basketball coach receives a court order to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities. Despite his doubts, he soon realizes that together they can go further than they ever imagined.
Attended the #RegalMysteryMovie tonight & had the opportunity to see #Champions starring Woody Harrelson, Kaitlin Olson, Ernie Hudson & Cheech Marin. This film provides plenty of laughs, with even more heart & sincerity. Do not miss this one when it hits theaters on March 10th! pic.twitter.com/wPjxtwBqWi
