The former Fox News host Tucker Carlson issued a major defense of the United States of America over the weekend while opening for Kid Rock in Gonzales, Louisiana.
Carlson Opens For Kid Rock
Newsweek reported that Kid Rock is currently on his Rock The Country tour, which features two-day stops at seven small towns and cities across the country between April and July, with the conservative singer visiting Louisiana, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia and South Carolina.
Last weekend, Carlson served as a surprise opener for Kid Rock for his show in Gonzales, and he took the opportunity to defend America in a beautiful way.
“I wound up here tonight because I was having dinner at my house with Kid Rock a few months ago,” Carlson began. “He said, ‘You should come and open for me on my summer tour.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m honored, of course, but I don’t play an instrument. Actually, I’m an unemployed talk-show host, so what would I do at your show?’ And he said, and I’m quoting now, ‘You will figure it out, and you will like it.’”
“So that was two months ago,” he continued. “And I woke up this morning, and I thought, I gotta go to Gonzales, Louisiana, and open up for Kid Rock. What am I gonna say? And I had no idea until I got here.”
Carlson Defends America
That’s when Carlson shifted to defending America from leftwing accusations that the country is “f***ed up.”
“The country they tell me about on the internet is f***** up,” Carlson said. “The country that I experience when I walk through this crowd, or when I wake up in my town of 100 people in a rural area, is a beautiful country filled with beautiful people.”
Carlson went on to say that he was drawn to a lighting rig at the Gonzales venue that resembled a cross because it was “a shape I like.”
“As I’m walking out [to the rig], this chick gets right in my face,” Carlson recounted. “She’s got two nose rings, a cross necklace and a Trump bracelet. And she looks at me right in the face, and she goes, ‘Ahhhhh!’ And she said, ‘I love you.’ And I said, ‘I love you, too.’ And I meant it. And I thought, That’s the America that I know. A little weird, slightly crazy, full of love, and beautiful. And that describes the man I’m here to introduce.”
Carlson concluded by saying it was “worth it” to travel a long distance to open for Kid Rock in small town America.
“Can you put a price on living free in the last free country? So let me tell you, my fellow Americans, what we’ve got. All gathered here tonight are free people united by our love of country and under God,” Carlson said. “And in the name of that country and that God, we’re here to celebrate a party that will not stop. And so, as I know you can, please be as noisy and disobedient as possible for Kid f****** Rock.”

Kid Rock And Carlson’s Friendship With Trump
Kid Rock and Carlson have been friends for years, and they are two of the only celebrities who have had the courage to stand by Trump. In a previous interview with Carlson, Kid Rock described Trump as “the greatest president” the U.S. has “ever had.”
“I love spending time with him, getting to know him, since he became president the first few months, having dinner at the White House with him and from there on we’ve just really hit it off,” Kid Rock said, according to Newsweek. “I can relate to him in a lot of ways.”
Kid Rock went on to say that Trump isn’t afraid to state “what’s on his mind,” adding that “if you look at [Trump’s] track record and who he is as a whole, there’s a lot more good there than anything.”
