Bud Light has lost over $27 billion since it went woke by teaming up with the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for an ad campaign earlier this year. Now, a video is going viral in which a bar in Buffalo, New York ditches Bud Light for good.

Bar Ditches Bud Light
The YouTube personality and podcast host Daniel M. Keem posted a video to social media in which his local bar does away with Bud Light due to the lack of customers ordering it.
“My local bar finally gave up & is removing Bud Light completely from the bar permanently,” Keem wrote in the video’s caption.
The video shows a bartender removing the Bud Light handle from the beer tap and replacing it with a handle of Miller Lite, which is owned by Anheuser-Busch rival Molson Coors.
“So, Bud Light is so boycotted that it’s being removed [and replaced] with Miller,” Keem said in the video. “It’s being removed from my local bar. Holy s–t. That’s crazy.”
“Really, nobody’s ordering Bud anymore?” he asked the bartender, who replied with an emphatic “No.”
The video has been viewed over 8.6 million times at the time off this writing.

Ever since Bud Light collaborated with Mulvaney on the ad campaign back in April, it has seen its sales plummet. The New York Post reported that sales fell 26.1 percent for the week that ended on July 15, an even larger decline than the 23.6% drop during the week of the Fourth of July holiday.
Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch announced earlier this week that it would be laying off nearly 400 workers at its corporate offices all over the country.
“While we never take these decisions lightly, we want to ensure that our organization continues to be set for future long-term success,” Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth said in a statement, according to CNBC. “These corporate structure changes will enable our teams to focus on what we do best — brewing great beer for everyone and earning our place in the moments that matter.”
Bud Light’s plummeting sales has been credited to a highly effective boycott of the brand that was launched by conservatives.
“Bud Light’s missteps felt like a betrayal to both its liberal and conservative customers, and that trust is going to take months, if not years, to rebuild,” Daniel Korschun, an associate professor of marketing at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, recently told The New York Times.

Bud Light’s Sister Brands ‘Infected’
Making matters even worse for the brand, Bud Light’s unpopularity appears to have “infected” its sister brands under the Anheuser-Busch umbrella. Sales of Michelob Ultra were down 4.3% in the week that ended July 1, while Busch Light sales were down 8.5%, according to Bump Williams’ eponymous consulting firm.
“Budweiser trends have been slipping for a very long time, but it’s the Michelob Ultra negative numbers and now Busch Light negative trends that are most alarming to me,” Williams told The Post. “They were very healthy prior to April 1.”
In contrast, Modelo Especial, which has dethroned Bud Light as America’s top beer, has seen its sales increase 11.4% during the week that ended July 1.
“The gap between Modelo Especial and Bud Light on a year-to-date basis is closing,” Williams explained.

Unfortunately for Bud Light, it seems unlikely that the brand will ever be able to recover from this. In the end, it’s safe to say that Bud Light has learned the hard way that the phrase “go woke, go broke” is very real indeed!
