The popular podcast host Joe Rogan is crediting Kid Rock with taking down Bud Light after the brand went woke by teaming up with the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney for an ad campaign earlier this year.

‘Game Over’
After Bud Light collaborated with Mulvaney, Kid Rock went viral with a video in which he shot up cases of Bud Light with a gun.
“Forget about everyone’s outrage,” Rogan said, according to Outkick. “Settle down everybody. Relax. They f*cked up. Let them off the hook. They f*cked up. It’s one thing. It’s not even that big of a deal, but when Kid Rock shoots your f*cking beer, it’s game over.”
Kid Rock’s guest Post Malone could not help but agree, saying that Kid Rock used a “cool MP5” to shoot up the Bud Light cases. However, he went on to question Kid Rock’s decision to do this, given the high cost of ammunition these days.

Bud Light Loses Billions
Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch has lost billions since the Mulvaney ad campaign came out in April, as conservatives have launched a highly effective boycott of the brand.
“Bud Light’s missteps felt like a betrayal to both its liberal and conservative customers, and that trust is going to take months, if not years, to rebuild,” Daniel Korschun, an associate professor of marketing at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, recently told The New York Times.
Former business executive Jennifer Sey told Fox News that brands with the kind of “big, broad reach” that Bud Light has should “think long and hard” before going woke and doing what she describes as “reputation laundering.”
“The companies that do would argue it’s about inclusion, but what people are rejecting is not the idea of inclusion, they’re rejecting an underlying ideology which states that men can be women and that there is no such thing as biology,” Sey explained. “These companies have taken these stances to curry favor with consumers. And what they’ve learned very quickly is there’s a large portion of consumers that are saying, ‘Yeah, no. I don’t believe in that. I’m gonna take my business elsewhere.’”
“Unfortunately, I think for Bud Light, there is now no way out but through… They could have apologized in the beginning to their loyal fans. They did not,” she stated. “And now they’ve just angered both sides and their business continues to suffer.”

Anheuser-Busch Heir Speaks Out
Earlier this month, Anheuser-Busch heir Billy Busch opened up about how devastated his ancestors would be if they could see how woke their brand has gone.
“I think my family — my ancestors would have rolled over in their graves,” Busch said when asked about the Mulvaney campaign, according to Fox News. “They believed that transgender, gays, that sort of thing was all a very personal issue. They loved this country because it is a free country and people are allowed to do what they want, but it was never meant to be on a beer can and never meant to be pushed in people’s faces.”
“You know, I think people who drink beer, I think they’re your common folk. I think they are the blue-collar worker who goes and works hard every single day,” Busch later added. “The last thing they want pushed down their throat or to be drinking is a beer can with that kind of message on it. I just don’t think that’s what they’re looking for. They want their beer to be truly American, truly patriotic, as it always has been. Truly, America’s beer, which Bud Light was and probably isn’t any longer.”

It’s safe to say that Bud Light has learned the hard way that “go woke, go broke” is very real indeed. While Kid Rock deserves some credit for the brand’s demise, the woke executives at Bud Light really only have themselves to blame.
