A spokesperson for the Israeli military blasted climate activist Greta Thunberg after she conveyed “solidarity” with Gaza following a Hamas terrorist attack that killed over 1,400 people, including at least 31 Americans.
Thunberg posted an image to Instagram that showed her and three other activists holding signs expressing support for Palestine as the war rages on in the Middle East.
Thunberg’s sign reads, “Stand with Gaza.”
“Today we are striking in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza,” the post is captioned. “The world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected.”
Imagine becoming famous for being a professional striker. Literally, somebody who refuses to do anything, every single day.
Nowhere in Thunberg’s post is the terrorist attack by Hamas that kickstarted the war mentioned, nor is there a single word about the hundreds of hostages still being held in captivity in Gaza.

Thunberg Called Out For Support of Gaza
In addition to standing in solidarity with Gaza, Thunberg shared a post on Instagram from a German-based pro-Palestinian account known as Palestine Speaks, claiming a “genocide” is taking place at the hands of Israel.
Arye Sharuz Shalicar, spokesman for the Israeli army, lashed out at Thunberg and anyone who supports her over the social media posts.

“Whoever identifies with Greta in any way in the future, in my view, is a terror supporter,” Shalicar seethed.

“What Greta is doing,” Shalicar continued, is “showing solidarity with Gaza while not saying a word about the massacres of Israelis.”
It “shows that she is actually not in favor of the Palestinians, but that she is sweeping the terror of the Palestinians or Hamas and Islamic Jihad under the table as if it did not exist,” he added.
This may seem harsh, but note that @GretaThunberg has made a grand total of ZERO tweets supporting Israel, showing sympathy to Jewish victims, or criticizing Hamas.
That is exactly how an antisemite would act. https://t.co/N4sEbZdRz0

Widely Criticized for Her Posts
Thunberg’s post in support of Gaza sparked not just criticism from the Israeli military, but a backlash on social media.
“Greta Thunberg supports ISIS,” one Instagram follower wrote. a phrase eventually shared as a meme on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
if @GretaThunberg really cares about humanity she will call the release of 203 Israelis and other foreign nationals by Hamas, an ISIS-like terrorist organization.

“She alienates EVERYONE concerned about the climate who doesn’t support Hamas terrorists,” wrote journalist David Collier. “Thunberg really is a prize idiot.”
So @GretaThunberg ‘stands with Palestine’ – ignoring the hostages, the 1400 slaughtered in a terror attack and rejecting Israel’s right to defend itself.
She alienates EVERYONE concerned about the climate who doesn’t support Hamas terrorists.

“It seems like (it) is about to be pretty climate neutral,” quipped social media strategist Joey Mannarino. “She should go live there, eh?”

Thunberg was named Time Person of the Year in 2019 for her climate activism, and she was later nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.
She was a frequent foil for former President Donald Trump, who famously mocked her for having an “anger management problem.”
