It is not entirely clear whether Musk was serious about wanting to make the deal.
An asking price has reportedly been established by Manchester United’s current owners, the Glazer family, for the potential purchase of the club.
“As the Glazer family finds themselves under unprecedented pressure to walk away from the club, Stretty News understands there is a New York-based investment fund considering putting together an offer to take over the club,” Stretty News reported.
“We cannot name the investment fund but we understand internal discussions regarding a potential offer have already taken place. Our American-based source described the situation as ‘very much real’ and ‘one to watch’,” the outlet added.
It is still unknown whether or not Elon Musk made an offer.
Before his announcement, Elon Musk wrote that he supported the “left half of the Republican Party and the right half of the Democratic Party.”
