The Killers have paid homage to Chicago with a cover of Material Issue’s ‘Very First Lie’ at Lollapalooza 2024.
Brandon Flowers and co took over the T-Mobile stage last night (August 3) serving as the headliners for the third day of Lollapalooza. They kicked off their set with their hits ‘Somebody Told Me’, ‘When You Were Young’, ‘Jenny Was a Friend of Mine’ and ‘Smile Like You Mean It’.
Towards the middle of their set, Flowers took a moment to talk to the crowd and share that the Chicagoan band Material Issue served as an influence for the band and proceeded to pay homage to the Windy City where the annual music bash is held with a cover of Material Issue’s ‘Very First Lie’. The Killers will play their classic 2004 debut album ‘Hot Fuss’ in full over 10 nights at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, starting on August 14 and wrapping up on September 1.
