jasmine.4.t has announced her debut album ‘You Are The Morning’ with the release of her moving single ‘Elephant’.
The Manchester-based artist is the first UK signee to Phoebe Bridgers’ label, Saddest Factory Records. She is set to release ‘You Are The Morning’ under Saddest Factory on January 17, 2025, with the album being produced by Bridgers and her Boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.
Speaking about ‘Elephant’, Jasmine said: “I wrote ‘Elephant’ very early in my transition about my first t4t love. It’s about when it hurts because you’re trying to be friends but you both want to be more. My life in Bristol fell apart when I came out and, having no safe place to live, I was staying on queers’ sofas in Manchester, traumatised and in no place to start a relationship.
“It was beyond healing recording this track in LA with Phoebe, Lucy and Julien, along with my Manchester dolls Eden and Phoenix and with extra layers from local trans musicians Vixen, Bobby, Addy and of course the incredible Trans Chorus of Los Angeles.”

Previously, Jasmine also released the album’s first single ‘Skin On Skin‘, which Jasmine wrote about experiencing physical touch. “I was still married at the time, though we’d taken a six-month break to have no contact and to see other people,” she said of the track. “In that period, I was struggling with PTSD and didn’t think it was a good idea to be starting another relationship.”
Jasmine shared that the track was written about a friend-turned-lover, adding: “Sticking to the physical boundaries we wanted to have with each other became increasingly difficult. We were spending lots of time together, then falling in love. This song became a celebration of healing and physical catharsis found through unrepressed queer love.”
The musician is soon to play some upcoming live dates. Backed by an all-trans band, Jasmine will kick off her shows at Glasgow’s Nice N Sleazy on November 1, whilst making appearances at Pitchfork Music Festival Paris and Live at Leeds – see all dates below:
