Ahead of their performance during the Super Bowl’s opening ceremony, Green Day headlined The FanDuel Party Powered by Spotify in San Francisco on Friday night. In what may have been a preview of Sunday, Billie Joe Armstrong used the set to denounce ICE, while also referencing Minneapolis and Jeffrey Epstein.
Speaking directly to ICE agents who may be on the ground for the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, Armstrong said from the stage: “Quit your shitty ass job. Quit that shitty job you have. Because when this is over, and it will be over at some point of time, Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Donald Trump — they’re gonna drop you like a bad fucking habit. Come on to this side of the line.”
The Green Day frontman also dedicated the band’s performance of “Holiday” “to Minneapolis,” and altered the song’s lyrics” from “the representative from California has the floor” to “the representative from Epstein Island has the floor.”

The NFL has spent a lot of time addressing concerns about Bad Bunny potentially making a political statement during his halftime performance, but it might be Green Day they have to worry about.
