1000-lb Sisters season 4 has brought Tammy and Amy Slaton back into the spotlight, and they may be getting more criticism than ever before.
1000-lb. Sisters season 4 has brought the Slaton sisters back into the spotlight, and fans are more judgmental of their dynamic than ever before. After a long absence, (during which Tammy Slaton had some serious health issues), and a second pregnancy for Amy Slaton-Halterman, the sisters have returned to the TLC docuseries to share their lives. While the show’s fourth installment is giving viewers all the details that they’ve been curious about for months, what many are focusing on the most is the shifting dynamic between Tammy and Amy.
Amy’s relationship with her sister has evolved significantly throughout her journey. From her own bariatric surgery to her pregnancies, her life has gotten busier over the last few years, while the other 1000-lb. Sisters star has been going through significant changes of her own. 1000-lb Sister‘s Tammy Slaton has been in a weight loss rehabilitation facility since late 2021, when she went through a medical emergency that nearly killed her. While staying at the facility, she met and married the love of her life, Caleb Willingham, and finally reached her goal weight.
What Was Tammy & Amy’s Relationship Like In The Past
Though most viewers know the Slaton siblings from their time on 1000-lb Sisters, the duo had a successful YouTube channel before they were reality TV stars. The sisters would make fun videos together (Amy Slaton-Halterman and Tammy Slaton now have separate YouTube channel). They typically did challenges and Q&A-style videos, which were then trendy, and amassed a fairly large following. That is how TLC producers discovered them.
In their original videos, the Slaton sisters had a good relationship, which made for great reality TV. They joked around a lot. They often created silly and carefree content. Amy, who may be the villain of 1000-lb. Sisters season 4, still posts videos on her channel, while Tammy hasn’t posted at YouTube since 2021. Online, the mood grew darker, as a fan told Tammy to find the root of her anger and heal it.
1000-Lb Sisters’ Tammy & Amy’s Relationship Is Different Now
Their life changes have altered their dynamic. With Tammy in her Ohio-based rehab facility for over a year, and Amy going through her second pregnancy states away, the sisters have drifted apart. Their squabbles have been tough to watch, as it seems like the two don’t connect well. In an episode of 1000-lb Sisters season 4, Amy asked Tammy to make one of their classic YouTube videos, and Tammy agreed. However, it was clear that the creative spark between the two had gone out, and both women walked away looking unhappy.
Amy’s tougher on Tammy than she used to be, and Tammy seems to be somewhat resentful of Amy’s rapid weight loss success, as well as her ability to maintain a growing family. Fans can only hope that the strain between the two is short-lived. Meanwhile, fans are picking on Amy over her parenting, with one remarking on a recent Instagram post, “the baby needs a bath.”
1000-lb. Sisters season 4 has a lot of ground to cover. From Tammy’s life-saving weight loss surgery and wedding to Caleb, to the birth of Amy’s second son, Glenn, fans are in store for a lot more from the sisters this season. Viewers hope that even if their relationship is imperfect, Amy and Tammy will be there for each other through it all.
