Sunday Wordle packs a punch and could cause a few fans of the game to lose their win streak. Here are the daily hints, and answer, to today’s Wordle.
October 29th has a new Wordle word ready to be solved. This particular word could be a bit difficult for some players. Luckily there aren’t any of the normal difficulty tricks that Wordle utilizes, no double letters or regional spellings, just a solid tough word.
For those that prefer more of a challenge though there is always the Wordle copycat Quordle which forces players to solve 4 different puzzles simultaneously. Every guess given reacts to each Wordle grid and you must balance what you’re guessing vs which box you’re playing in. This can be quite a fun diversion from the normal Wordle puzzle.

Today’s Wordle Hints (October 29th #862)
The October 29th Wordle answer is PHONY.
For our starting Wordle word today we used one of our go-to beginning words, POUND. This worked out nicely for us since it had two letters in the correct positions with ‘P’ and ‘N’ and one misplaced ‘O’ for a vowel. Moving forward it seemed like the obvious answer would be PHONE, which was our second guess. As the green letters began to flip we thought we had this one in the bag but then the last letter stayed gray prompting a suprise.
Thinking it through for a bit we thought perhaps the vowel was duplicated so we tried PHONO. This proved to be incorrect and left us puzzled for a bit. Our only way out of this was to stare at the little virtual keyboard and start saying the words out loud, most made no sense at all but then it hit us and we scored our Wordle win-in-four with the correct answer PHONEY.
