Pam from The Office loves a good prank, but the full version of her Bearman comic picks up on a weird quirk in her humor that fans might have missed.
One of the stars of the most beloved sitcoms of all time, NBC’s The Office, is none other than Pamela Morgan Beesly (as played by Jenna Fischer), a character known for her incredible character growth over nine seasons, her iconic romance with Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and also… her love of toilet humor?
Back in 2020, the creators of The Office fan community and collectibles site DunderMifflinPaper.com revealed that they had recreated, in full, a fan version of the The Adventures of Jimmy Halpert comic that Pam made for Jim way back in Season 7. The full-color comic recreation was made in collaboration with the comic’s incredibly talented original artist Tone Rodriguez – written by uber-fan Nikki Saldaña – and brings back a strange TV detail about Pam’s sense of humor that fans might think is more suited to her immature manager Michael Scott.
The Adventures of Jimmy Halpert was a homemade comic written and drawn by Pam and given to Jim as a gift in the Season 7 episode “Classy Christmas Part 2,” which featured a fictionalized version of Jim’s life at home and in the office after he gets bitten by a bear and turns into the superhero Bearman. Jim, of course, loved the comic, but fans of The Office who clamored to see the full comic were disappointed when only the cover and first two pages were shown. However, unlike the message that Jim put in the teapot for Pam in Season 2, or what Michael and Pam said to each other in the airport in Season 7, fans can actually see the full The Adventures of Jimmy Halpert thanks to DunderMifflinPaper.com and original artist Tone Rodriguez. While the comic isn’t officially connected to the show, it hits on a smart reference during Jim’s first transformation, when Kevin is pictured in the bathroom.
Despite being one of the show’s most reasonable characters, Pam Beesly has a surprising weakness for toilet humor. Most notably, in episode fourteen of season nine, ‘Vandalism,’ Pam gets revenge on warehouse worker Frank by drawing an insulting mural on his truck which depicts him in the same situation as Kevin. Not only that, but in a cold open from Season 4 that was released by Peacock+ in early 2022, Michael Scott clumsily drops everything in his pockets into the toilet, while Pam cracks up at the toilet humor-based situation.
It’s an area that not many The Office fans would believe would particularly amuse Pam, and yet the unofficial comic’s creators picked up on this detail, deciding that Pam would indeed include some toilet humor in her homemade comic. Pam isn’t exactly the most mature person – loving Jim’s many pranks on Dwight – and fans of the show know she’s willing to employ bathroom humor in the name of revenge. The fan version of The Office‘s The Adventures of Jimmy Halpert continues this trend, showing that in trying to give Jim the best possible present, Pam‘s surprising penchant for scatological jokes returned in full force.
