Drew and Ralph met in 2013 and have been married for nearly a decade. The relationship has been a point of discussion among Real Housewives viewers and cast mates over the years, and Kenya is now opening up regarding her perspective on the matter.
Drew first appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 13 in 2020. Drew and Ralph’s marriage has been rocky since its television debut, during which the couple was seen arguing during an anniversary dinner. Since then, viewers and co-stars such as Kenya have been critical of Ralph’s behavior towards Drew. Kenya’s relationship woes have also been a focal point of the series during season 14, filmed shortly after Kenya and Marc Daly’s divorce.
Kenya once again expressed that she views Ralph and Drew’s marriage in a critical light. Having had her own experience with unhealthy relationship dynamics in the past, Kenya explained to Today that Ralph and Drew’s marriage “looks like a very toxic relationship that is not beneficial to Drew.” The actress and former Miss USA winner said that she sees some troubling parallels between her tumultuous relationship with Marc and that of Ralph and Drew. Kenya said, “I see so many similarities between my husband and Ralph. It’s really scary for me to watch it before my eyes because I feel like I’m Drew in that moment a lot of times.”
Kenya explained that the comparisons that can be made between the two strained relationships can be very overwhelming for her to witness sometimes and have caused her to worry about Drew, wondering “how [Ralph] speaks to [Drew] without cameras being there.” In reference to having defended Drew against Ralph’s ‘toxic’ behavior previously, Kenya is glad she was able to do so. Feeling that she should have defended herself the same way, Kenya says she “felt like that’s the woman I should have been when I spoke up. That’s the woman I should have been in my marriage and I wasn’t.”
It seems clear to both Kenya and fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta that it may be time for Ralph and Drew to call it quits. The two have experienced countless troubles on the show from the very beginning, and, although Kenya and Drew have not always been the best of friends, Kenya’s experiences with Marc cannot easily be dismissed in regard to Drew’s relationship with Ralph. Despite the fact that Kenya has faced backlash in the past for having body-shamed Drew on social media, Kenya seems to have drawn a line in supporting Drew. It’s unclear whether the two will remain on good terms, but Kenya’s thoughts on Ralph will likely never change.
