MTV’s The Challenge has been on the air for over 20 years, and now they are coming out with a six-part docuseries titled The Challenge: Untold History. The Challenge has become one of the most talked about shows out there and has aired over 500 episodes. It is currently in the process of filming The Challenge season 38, which will air later this year. What fans of the show don’t realize is how influential the show is to people, and now viewers will get a full history of the show in the docuseries.
When The Challenge: Untold History premieres later this summer, viewers will see the behind-the-scenes of the show. Many competitors, as well as some celebrities, will talk about the history of the show and even includes commentary from producers, media analysts, and even famous fans of The Challenge. Viewers can get a deep understanding of how the show came about and why it is so popular still to this day.
According to Variety, the docuseries will explore the formation and expansion of the reality show. Among some of the people giving commentary will be competitors such as Mark Long, CT Tamburello, Kam Williams, and Wes Bergmann, to name a few. Some of the famous fans that will provide insight will be Kim Kardashian, Vernon Davis, and Lindsay Jacobellis. However, these celebrities are just the ones that were seen in the trailer, and it’s unknown if more will make an appearance during the six-part series. Despite not many details being out about the six-part series, viewers know the docuseries is something they can look forward to later this summer. The series has had many spinoffs, including, The Challenge: Champs vs Stars, The Challenge: All-Stars, and The Challenge: USA, which is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 6, but it is unknown if these spinoffs will be mentioned in the history of The Challenge. Despite starting out as an all-star version of MTV’s Road Rules and later known as Real World/Road Rules Challenge, the series was rebranded as The Challenge starting in 2010 and now features reality stars from all over the world.
When The Challenge: Untold History premieres, viewers can expect a deep dive into everything there is to know about the hit MTV series. The show has been on the air for over 20 years and doesn’t seem like it will be slowing down anytime soon. If viewers want to take a trip down memory lane, they can stream seasons 10-35 as well as Champs V.S. Pros and All-Stars on Paramount+. Luckily, viewers won’t have to wait too long to watch The Challenge as The Challenge: USA premieres on CBS in less than a month.
