Red Dead Redemption 2’s Roger Clark, who voices Arthur Morgan, expresses sympathy to Red Dead Online players following the title’s untimely death.
Roger Clark, the beloved actor who portrayed Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, has joined fans in mourning the death of Red Dead Online. Rockstar Games’ multiplayer Wild West experience launched in 2019, but a lack of regular updates turned many players away from the title over the last few years. It was recently announced that no more Red Dead Online updates are planned, leading to widespread mourning for the game’s sudden death.
Similar Grand Theft Auto Online before it, Red Dead Online lets players explore a massive Rockstar Games world while collaborating or competing with other players. The American frontier is just as vast and detailed as it is in Red Dead Redemption 2, with players engaging in various activities like hunting, robbing and bounty hunting. Unfortunately, since the launch of Red Dead Online substantial updates have been few and far between. This led to the slow decline of the multiplayer title’s playerbase, and Rockstar recently confirmed that development will be refocused away from Red Dead Online and towards Grand Theft Auto 6. Players subsequently began to mourn Red Dead Online with in-game funerals, and a key figure has now expressed sympathies to the community.
Arthur Morgan’s voice actor Roger Clark recently gave his condolences to the Red Dead Online community following the multiplayer title’s premature death. Morgan serves as the beloved protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2, with Clark’s performance granting the character unbelievable charm and humanity. Now the actor has joined fans in mourning Red Dead Online with a concise and heartfelt tweet that reads, “Although today it has my sympathies I know this community will never die. #outlawsforlife.” The tweet reveals that, despite playing no role in Red Dead Online, Roger Clark is still dedicated to the Red Dead community.
Roger Clark has previously proven himself as a proponent of the Red Dead community through a lockdown letter from the Arthur Morgan actor. During 2021’s COVID-19 lockdown, Clark tried to put a positive spin on what was a very scary and disheartening event. He expressed hope that the lockdown would prove to be a unifying experience that motivated empathy and common understanding across the world. Roger Clark also revealed that he had been brought closer to his family throughout the pandemic and had seen “charity, care, bravery and teamwork” within his community.
Red Dead Online fans are still mourning the game’s untimely demise, and Roger Clark has once again expressed support for the community. Despite having no direct relation to the multiplayer game, Clark acts as a voice for Arthur Morgan and the Red Dead Redemption 2 cast as a whole. While Red Dead Online updates may be done, Roger Clark ensures that adventures in the Wild West will never be forgotten.
Red Dead Online is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
