Denise Richards and NeNe Leakes are taking aim at their status as alums of Bravo‘s Real Housewives franchise with their new Lifetime movie, Hunting Housewives.
Lifetime announced Thursday that Richards and Leakes will star in the channel’s thriller that is set to air March 9. Kym Johnson Herjavec and Melyssa Ford co-star with them in Hunting Housewives, which follows four harried housewives who plan a weekend spa getaway but end up stranded in the wilderness when their plane goes down. They then need to rely on their instincts and the limited contents of their designer bags to find safety and evade a group of deadly hunters.
Richards, who is known for her decades-spanning acting career, was a main castmember on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for seasons nine and 10 and has appeared as a guest on season 13, which is currently airing. She has starred in such previous Lifetime movies as 2019’s The Secret Lives of Cheerleaders and 2021’s Killer Cheer Mom.
Leakes was a mainstay on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, appearing as a main castmember in the first seven seasons and then returning in the same capacity for seasons 10-12. She has landed a number of acting roles, often playing herself, which includes a 2021 episode of Dynasty.
Marco Deufemia directs Hunting Housewives from a script by Paula Tiberius. Beth Stevenson, Nancy Yeaman, Stan Hum and Vanessa Shapiro serve as executive producers.
This is hardly the only Lifetime movie slated for 2024 that is set to feature familiar faces for Real Housewives fans. Fellow Real Housewives of Atlanta standout Kenya Moore will appear in Abducted Off the Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story, debuting Feb. 10, while The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Rinna will co-star with real-life daughter Delilah Hamlin in Mommy Meanest, which does not yet have a premiere date.
