Love was in the air on the Bachelor in Paradise season 9 premiere as several new couples formed ahead of the first rose ceremony, but they won’t all make it to the end of the season. Bachelor in Paradise season 9 welcomes back host Jesse Palmer and bartender Wells Adams, both of whom have already offered words of advice to the contestants. So far, the majority of the hopefuls are from Zach Shallcross’ Bachelor season and Charity Lawson’s Bachelorette season. Because Charity’s season hadn’t aired before Bachelor in Paradise season 9 filmed, the men from that season were a mystery to their fellow beachgoers.
Bachelor in Paradise season 9 already has a love triangle among Kylee Russell, Will Urena, and Olivia Lewis. In addition, several other couples made connections that should help them get through the next rose ceremony, in which the guys will hand out the roses. As the premiere episode comes to an end, there are some spoilers that reveal which of those couples will stay together and which will break up.
Aaron Bryant & Mercedes Northup
Aaron Bryant placed third on Charity Lawson’s Bachelorette season and even returned to try to win her back after she sent him home. However, despite their strong feelings for each other, they didn’t work out, and Aaron B. is looking for a second chance at love on Bachelor in Paradise season 9. He made a connection with Mercedes Northup, who appeared on Zach Shallcross’ Bachelor season. They even shared a kiss.
However, the previews have revealed that Aaron B. actually ends up falling in love with Eliza Isichei, who returned to the beach after appearing on Bachelor in Paradise season 8 last summer. Reality Steve has revealed that Aaron B. and Eliza not only fall in love, but get engaged, at the end of the season. This means that Aaron B. and Mercedes’ relationship will come to an end.
Aaron Schwartzman & Sam Jeffries
Aaron Schwartman, who appeared on Charity’s Bachelorette season and Sam Jeffries, who mysteriously disappeared from Clayton Echard’s Bachelor season on premiere night, seemed to be making a connection. Although weren’t shown kissing, they appeared to be spending a lot of time together talking. In the previews, when Sam has a medical emergency because she hasn’t gone to the bathroom in nine days, the medic tells her that they’ll have to deliver “almost like a poo baby.” Aaron S. jokingly tells her, “Just remember one thing, it’s not your poop baby. It’s gonna be our poop baby.” Perhaps Aaron S. and Sam stay together for the long haul in Paradise.
Blake Moynes & Jess Girod
Blake Moynes, who was a contestant on Clare Crawley & Tayshia Adams’ Bachelorette season and then got engaged to Katie Thurston at the end of hers, returned for another chance at love. He made a connection with Jess Girod from Zach’s season. Although they seemed to be hitting it off, and even shared a kiss, Reality Steve reported that Blake eventually self-eliminated from the season. As seen in the previews, Katie came to Paradise, and they talked for the first time since they ended their engagement two years ago. However, the true reason why Blake self-eliminated is unknown.
Brayden Bowers & Kat Izzo
Brayden Bowers from Charity’s season and Kat Izzo from Zach’s season made a connection during the Bachelor in Paradise season 9 premiere and shared several kisses. However, the previews indicate that their relationship doesn’t last. Brayden is shown on a date with former Bachelorette Rachel Recchia, while Kat is seen making out on the beach with John Henry Spurlock from Charity’s season. Reality Steve revealed that Kat and John Henry actually get engaged at the end of Bachelor in Paradise season 9. Although it’s unclear if Brayden made any lasting connections, he and Rachel seemed very cozy in the audience at Charity’s “After the Final Rose” episode.
Sean McLaughlin & Rachel Recchia
Sean McLaughlin from Charity’s season and former Bachelorette Rachel made a connection during the Bachelor in Paradise season 9 premiere. They had some good conversations and even shared a kiss. However, their relationship doesn’t last. In the previews, Rachel is seen reconnecting with Jordan Vandergriff. Rachel had eliminated Jordan on her first one-on-one date during her season. They were shown kissing on the beach. Rachel was also shown on a date with Brayden.
Reality Steve revealed that Rachel eventually ends up dating Tanner Courtad from Charity’s season. However, eventually, Rachel self-eliminated from Bachelor in Paradise season 9. Reality Steve reported that she wasn’t eliminated at a rose ceremony, but left the show because of her own decision.
Will Urena & Olivia Lewis
Will Urena, who appeared on Michelle Young’s Bachelorette season, and Olivia Lewis, who was from Zach’s season, seemed to be really hitting it off in Paradise. On day one, after laughing when Olivia asked Will if he would suck her toes, they shared the first kiss of the season. However, Will also had his eye on Kylee Russell, who received the first Bachelor in Paradise season 9 date card.
Despite Kylee saying that she didn’t want to start any drama, she asked Will on the date. He accepted without speaking to Olivia first, which angered her. They eventually had a heated conversation during which Will told her that he didn’t owe her anything at that point in the season. It’s safe to say that their relationship is over.
Will Urena & Kylee Russell
Kylee, who appeared on Zach’s season, came to Bachelor in Paradise season 9 hoping to meet Rachel’s runner-up Aven Jones. Although they’d never spoken, Aven had left heart and fire emojis on her Instagram photographs, which excited Kylee. However, when Kylee received the first date card of the season, Aven wasn’t there, so she asked Will, even though she knew he’d connected with Olivia.
Despite an embarrassing moment when Will fell into the water in which their dinner table was situated, Kylee and Will had a romantic date. They shared great conversations and kisses, and seemed to be headed in the right direction. However, the day after they returned from their date, Aven arrived in Paradise. The previews showed that Kylee and Aven end up dating. Will was shown crying hysterically in a clip as well. Reality Steve reported that Kylee and Aven do end up making a very strong connection in Paradise, and leave the beach together, but not engaged.
Bachelor in Paradise season 9 is already heating up as several couples have already made connections. The men will be giving out the roses this week, so it’ll be exciting to see who Peter Cappio and Aven give their roses to. It’ll also be interesting to see how long these couples last, and how their relationships ultimately end. It’s exciting to know that Bachelor in Paradise worked for some of the couples, and they really did find love on the beach.
Bachelor in Paradise airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
