To get Momo to fix their transceiver in Stray, the feline protagonist must find and collect four Notebooks containing research about the Outside.
Notebooks are collectibles in Stray that players can find and collect for Momo, an NPC who states that these diaries contain important research about the Outside. The feline protagonist will first encounter Momo after entering the Slums and meeting the Guardian, a red-cloaked character claiming to be the defender of the neighborhood. This NPC will give players a postcard of the Outside world in Stray, which they can show Momo, signifying their interest in learning more about the zone beyond their own.
However, the transceiver Momo used to contact their companions is broken; therefore, the robot cannot gain any more intel. Accordingly, it is up to the feline protagonist to locate the Notebooks of Momo’s affiliates to gather the information needed to reveal more about the Outside. There are a total of four Notebooks that players can acquire throughout their playthrough. The first will be automatically given to the protagonist after meeting Momo for the first time.
After receiving the first Notebook in Stray, turn around and go outside onto the balcony of Momo’s home. Leap down onto the rooftops, and go across the canopy to the building location in Stray on the far left side. Climb onto the roof and disable the fan to enter the room below. Inside, knock over the pile of boxes near the entrance to find Zbaltazar’s Notebook.
Where To Find Every Notebook In Stray
Next, head to the Library in the Slums and search for the makeshift bedroom hidden behind several stacks of books. Players can recognize this room by a red curtain draping halfway over the doorway. Pick up the key on the bed and knock over the piles of books in the aisle to the left. This action will reveal a hidden safe, which can be opened using the key from the bedroom. Players will find Doc’s Notebook within this vault.
The fourth and final Notebook collectible in Stray is located in Clementine’s home. After entering through the broken sliding doors, go past the fridge on the left and investigate the cramped room in the back. Leap onto the desk and pick up Clementine’s Notebook next to the monitor. After collecting the last Notebook, return to Momo and show them the collectibles. A cutscene will play of the robot finally repairing the transceiver before giving it to the feline protagonist. With the device in their inventory, players can ride the bucket zipline across the wide gap to install the transceiver and progress the story.
Stray is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
