The Bachelor has brought many contestants into public consciousness, and while some Bachelor Nation alums marry others, some of the most popular Bachelor Nation faces have gotten married outside the franchise. Though some of the fairy-tale motifs of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are lost when the couples don’t work out, Bachelor Nation is simply happy to root for its members and genuinely hopes for the best for those who participate in the franchise. While many have seen couples like Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici or Tanner Tolbert and Jade Roper make it out of the franchise and into a successful relationship, other contestants haven’t had the same luck.
With most Bachelor Nation relationships failing, the success rate of the shows is somewhat low in terms of lasting love. Still, The Bachelor and Bachelorette participants tend to find partners outside the franchise quickly after their time on it. For some couples, the vulnerability it takes to find and attract love is something that the show instills within them. After their Bachelor experience, they’re more prone to finding a relationship as it’s something they’ve learned, without being aware most of the time, to attract. While many eventually find partners and settle down, there has been a trend over the last several years of Bachelor alumni marrying people outside the franchise.
14 The Bachelorette Season 12’s Wells Adams
Wells Adams was one of the fan favorites of The Bachelorette season 12. Charming, funny, and always insightful, Wells was one of the men vying for Jojo Fletcher’s heart during her time as the lead on the series. Wells made it to the middle of the season before he was eliminated, but left a huge impression on Bachelor Nation, which included Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland at the time. Wells and Sarah met, and their attraction was instantaneous. A funny, open couple, the pair have become a part of Bachelor Nation together. After dating for years, Wells and Sarah were married in a gorgeous ceremony in 2022.
13 The Bachelor Season 23’s Sydney Lotuaco
Sydney Lotuaco was originally a contestant on The Bachelor season 23, which featured Colton Underwood as the lead. After leaving the series on her own in week 6, Sydney went on to join Bachelor In Paradise season 6 to continue her search for love. She lasted on the series for several weeks before ultimately getting eliminated. Thankfully for Sydney, love was just around the corner for the professional dancer. After never having been in a serious relationship before, Sydney met Nick during the COVID-19 pandemic through Instagram after he watched her on The Bachelor, and the two hit it off. Sydney and Nick got engaged in 2021 and married in 2023.
12 The Bachelorette Season 16’s Clare Crawley
Clare Crawley has a long history with Bachelor Nation, which makes it even more surprising that she never found love within the franchise. First appearing on The Bachelor, Clare was then on Bachelor In Paradise and Bachelor Winter Games before she eventually became The Bachelorette. With Clare’s journey stalled by the COVID-19 pandemic, her season would have been a first for Bachelor Nation regardless of her choices, but when Clare met Dale Moss, she thought she’d found the one. She left The Bachelorette with Dale after just four episodes, but the couple broke up months later. Eventually, Clare met her now-husband Ryan Dawkins, and the two were married in 2023.
11 The Bachelor Season 23’s Colton Underwood
The Bachelor season 23 star Colton became one of the most talked about Bachelor Nation alumni ever, even before this turn as the lead. Notably publicized as a virgin, Colton became the lead after his time on Becca Kurfin’s season of The Bachelorette, where people either loved him or hated him. As The Bachelor, Colton ultimately chose to pursue a relationship with Cassie Randolph, but things quickly got messy for the stars, and they ended their relationship. In 2021, Colton came out as gay, making him the first Bachelor lead to ever do so. He married his partner Jordan C. Brown in 2023 after two years together.
10 The Bachelor Season 24’s Madison Prewett
Famously, the second choice on The Bachelor season 24, Madison Prewett, was rejected by Peter Weber and eventually told that she was the one he wanted. Though her time on The Bachelor was dramatic, Madison ultimately didn’t wind up in a relationship with Peter and came out of the series ready to find lasting love. She met Grant Troutt, son of billionaire Kenny Troutt, in 2021, and the two got engaged in July 2022. By October of the same year, Madison and Grant were married in a lavish ceremony in Texas.
9 The Bachelor Season 20’s Emily Ferguson
One half of the famous Fergie Twins duo, Emily Ferguson, and her twin sister Haley Ferguson both appeared on The Bachelor season 20. While the twins were both interested in lead Ben Higgins, it was clear that their time on the show was, at times, more of a bit than a serious chance at a relationship. While Ben and Emily’s connection didn’t make it too far, Bachelor Nation fell in love with the Ferguson twins. Emily met professional hockey player William Karlsson in 2017, and the pair got engaged in 2020. After marrying in 2021, they welcomed a son, Beckham, in 2023.
8 The Bachelor Season 20’s Haley Ferguson
Much like her twin Emily, Haley didn’t make it far on The Bachelor season 20, but her spot in Bachelor Nation’s heart was solidified quickly. Both Haley and her sister appeared on Bachelor In Paradise for seasons 3, 4, and 6 but stopped their journeys when Emily’s relationship with her now-husband began. After years of searching for a partner of her own, Haley met a professional hockey player like her sister. Haley and Oula Palve met in 2020, got engaged in 2021, and married in 2022.
7 The Bachelor Season 22’s Krystal Nielson
After playing the villain during The Bachelor season 22, Krystal Nielson came back to redeem herself during Bachelor In Paradise season 5. There, she met Chris “Goose” Randone from The Bachelorette season 14, and the two got engaged. They were married in 2019 but chose to separate in 2020. Later that year, Krystal announced that she was in a new relationship. She’d met and started dating Miles Bowles in 2020, and the two announced Krystal was pregnant with their first child, who was born in 2021. The pair got engaged in 2022 and are set to be married this summer.
6 The Bachelor Season 20’s Amanda Stanton
Amanda Stanton was a front-runner during Ben’s season of The Bachelor. A young single mother, Amanda was sweet and won the hearts of Bachelor Nation with her open, honest nature. Though she and Ben didn’t work out, she eventually did find love on Bachelor In Paradise season 3 with Josh Murray, but the pair broke things off after months together. Amanda returned to Bachelor In Paradise season 4, only to leave alone. After taking some time away from Bachelor Nation, Amanda met Michael Fogel, and the pair hit it off. They were engaged in 2021 and got married in September 2022.
5 The Bachelor Season 20’s Lauren Bushnell
The final rose recipient of The Bachelor season 20, Lauren Bushnell, was engaged to Bachelor Ben for over a year before the pair chose to break things off. The stars of their own reality TV series, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, the couple seemed like they were on a great path together but ultimately chose to separate. In 2018, Lauren met country singer Chris Lane, and the two began dating. They got engaged in 2019 and were married later that year. Lauren and Chris have two sons together, Dutton and Baker, and currently live in Nashville.
4 The Bachelor Season 20’s Ben Higgins
Bachelor Ben tried to find love on reality TV, but ultimately his relationship with Lauren ended after just over a year together. Though he was ready for a serious relationship, Ben decided to take some time away from the dating scene and started working hard. He started multiple podcasts, and worked within his ministry, then met Jessica Clarke in 2018. The pair dated for nearly two years before he proposed in 2020. Ben and Jessica were married at a Bachelor Nation flooded wedding in November 2021.
3 The Bachelorette Season 11’s Britt Nilsson
After finishing just shy of the finale on The Bachelor season 19, Britt Nilsson became one of the possible leads for The Bachelorette season 11. During the first night of the season, Britt and Kaitlyn Bristowe were voted on by the men as to who would be the season’s Bachelorette. Kaitlyn ultimately won out over Britt, but the almost-lead found love quickly after with a former flame. Reconnecting with Jeremy Byrne after the show, the pair were engaged and married in 2017. They welcomed their first daughter, Noa, in 2020 and their second, Ayla, in 2022.
2 The Bachelor Season 19’s Whitney Bischoff
The winner of The Bachelor season 19, Whitney Bischoff, accepted Chris Soules’ proposal during the finale of the season. The pair tried to make it work for some time before deciding to call it quits after six months together. After her time on The Bachelor, Whitney returned to her work as a fertility specialist in Chicago, where she met her future husband, Ricky Angel. The pair were engaged in 2016 and married in 2017. Whitney and Ricky welcomed a son, Hayes, in 2019.
1 The Bachelorette Season 10’s Andi Dorfman
Famous for her time as the lead on The Bachelorette season 10, Andi Dorfman was originally on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor. After rejecting Juan Pablo and deciding to leave, she was cast as The Bachelorette. She got engaged to Josh Murray at the end of her season, accepting his proposal, but the two broke up by early 2015. Andi originally met Blaine Hart at a party in 2006, but they didn’t reconnect until 2021. Meeting up while they were both on vacation in Italy, Andi and Blaine became inseparable. Engaged in 2022, Andi and Blaine got married in an Italian ceremony in 2023.
