In Pokémon Sleep, a Helper Team is needed for Sleep Studying other rarer Pokémon throughout their relaxed gameplay progression. Snorlax, the main star of the team, produces Sleep Power which helps attract Pokémon to the island each night. To get more Sleep Power, Snorlax requires Helpers to gain ingredients, eat berries, and grow stronger. Whether just beginning the new health app game or wanting to brush up on some knowledge, having an effective team makes a huge difference.
Similar to many mainline Pokémon series games, having a balanced team produces a better outcome. Likewise, the Discord community at Sleep Mathcord has classified three types of Helper Pokémon to help Snorlax Grow: Skill Mons, Ingredient Mons, and Berry Mons. When all of these Pokémon are on a team respectively balancing it out, Snorlax will have a greater ability to attract rarer Pokémon each week, such as Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Sleep.
Adding to the three types of Helper Pokémon, players should also take note of their stage in the game (early or late game) and their Pokémon’s Skills, Stats, and Nature. These factor into a Helping Pokémon’s effectiveness of producing resources for Snorlax.
10 Wigglytuff
More and more research is being done about using team-wide Energy Boosts that certain Pokémon in Pokémon Sleep give. On a fully optimized team, this skill would not be used. However, it is beneficial for early game Pokémon that need extra support. Since it is considered a Skill Mon, better Wigglytuff will have Sub-skills leveling its Main Skill up. Furthermore, nature with Main Skill Chance increased will improve its Energy Boosts, ultimately helping the entire team out more.
9 Altaria
As the only Dragon-type Pokémon in Pokémon Sleep, Altaria is a must-have. It produces 2x Yache Berry, which is needed if Snorlax requires it each week. It cannot be found on its own yet and requires a player to find its pre-evolution Swablu on Greengrass Isle. To fully evolve it to Altaria, Swablu needs 40 Swablu Candy for it to be at Level 26.
Unfortunately, players do not see this Pokémon as a strong choice in future updates. Due to its single Energy boosting Main Skill. It is very centered around the need for having Sub-Skills and Natures revolving around Inventory, Ingredients, or Berry Help. Other Dragon-type Pokémon could have stronger abilities with the Yache Berry in the future.
8 Walrein
Walrein can be considered a Berry Mon as it gives 2x the amount of Rawst Berries throughout a long period. However, it is a very high-effort Pokémon to raise initially. With its three-tiered evolution and its large inventory space, this Pokémon is a huge benefit to any team. Consider maxing out the Friends List in Pokémon Sleep for rewards towards Walrein.
This Pokémon requires a large amount of resources to evolve and grow. Make sure to keep an eye on its Sub-Skills and Nature to ensure if it is worth raising. Walrein’s recommended Sub-Skills should be based on Berry Finding, while its Nature should emphasize Speed of Help.
7 Magnemite Line – Magnezone
Much like Altaria, the Magnemite Line is also an exclusive Berry Finder Family which collects Belue Berry. This Berry is associated only with Steel-type Pokémon, and with new updates, could have more Pokémon with this type in the future. Additionally, the Family’s Main Skill gives players Cooking Power S, which increases the amount of ingredients used in Snorlax meals. The more ingredients players use in the pot, the stronger the recipe will be.
6 Ditto
As Pokémon Sleep players progress through the game, a rare ingredient needed for higher-quality meals can be obtained by both Slowpoke and Ditto. Historically, The Slowpoke Tail is a delicacy in Generation 2 Johto games brought to the islands in Pokémon Sleep. This delicacy is used in many dishes to elevate the meal power for Snorlax. Unfortunately, tails are not produced quickly with the Slowpoke family line. This is where Ditto can come in, where it is used as an Ingredient Mon specifically for these tails at a high level. This Pokémon should not be overlooked and is a huge benefit later.
5 Kanto Starter Trio
Some of the best Ingredient Mons in the game, the Kanto Starter Trio is accessible to everyone at any gameplay stage in Pokémon Sleep. Shortly after setting up the fun and tracking sleep in Pokémon Sleep for the first time, players will be introduced to a new Helper Pokémon. Be sure to hang onto this Bulbasaur, Squirtle, or Charmander, as they are powerful Helpers. They provide a large amount of ingredients and are easy to level up and evolve. With all three of these Pokémon having different Sleep Styles, consider prioritizing obtaining all three when encountering them in the morning.
4 Dodrio
Dodrio is not only a fast-acting Pokémon in the mainline games but also in Pokémon Sleep. The Speed stat is transferred to its Helping Speed, making it very useful for collecting ingredients and berries. Additionally, with its self Energy Boosting main skill, Dodrio can be of use longer during the day. This Pokémon would mostly be considered a Berry Mon, and it’s useful to have Inventory and Speed of Help boosting Natures and Sub-skills.
3 Gengar
The only Ghost-type evolution family line in Pokémon Sleep is Gengar. Not only is Gengar needed for Bluk Berries but also for its Speed of Help or Frequency which helps players find more ingredients and berries faster. Natures should prioritize an increase in the Speed of Help or Ingredient Finding. For Sub-skills, Ingredient Finder and Helping Speed are a big plus for any Helper Team.
2 Raichu
Consider evolving Pikachu to Raichu for massive early-game benefits in Pokémon Sleep. It is a very common Pokémon to find, and players are even given a Pikachu Incense after completing a specific mission. Much like Gengar and Dodrio due to Speed Stats, Raichu’s quick Frequency of Help provides Berries and Ingredients much faster than other Pokémon. Additionally, its given Ingredients can be used in almost all of Pokémon Sleep‘s recipes.
Consider obtaining a Raichu from an evolved Pichu instead of a Pikachu so that Raichu’s Main Skill can have an extra free chance for a Level, making it stronger.
1 Butterfree
With a straightforward find rate, Butterfree is an excellent choice for any team in Pokémon Sleep. It comes from the Dozing Sleep Type and is mainly a Berry Mon but can produce many Ingredients as well. It is found on Greengrass Isle and evolves from Metapod. It is one of the fastest fully evolved Pokémon that players can find in Pokémon Sleep right now. Due to this, early-game players raise more than a few of them because of its fast Frequency and large Inventory. Much like the Raichu evolution line, raising a Caterpie to a Butterfree is recommended.
