Sting has swung to the rescue as Bourbon & Beyond’s replacement headliner after Neil Young pulled out of the festival due to illness.
Bourbon & Beyond 2024 goes down on September 19th-22nd at Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Sting, now taking Neil Young’s headlining slot on Friday, September 19th, will play as part of a trio he’s deemed “Sting 3.0”: Sting on bass, Dominic Miller on guitar, and Chris Maas on drums.
“While we will miss Neil Young at Bourbon this year, we’re excited to welcome a music legend, Sting, to the Bourbon & Beyond lineup,” said Danny Wimmer, Founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “We’ve been trying to bring Sting to Bourbon for you since 2018 and it’s an incredible honor to have him join us for what will undoubtedly be our biggest and most unforgettable year ever.”
Sting has been taking his Sting 3.0 power trio on the road for a stretch of European dates, which began in late May after an appearance at BeachLife Festival in California. He heads back to North America to resume his Sting 3.0 tour in mid September ahead of his Bourbon & Beyond set; afterwards, the tour will hit cities like Toronto, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Miami, Chicago, and San Francisco before concluding in Los Angeles in November. Sting will play also three shows with Billy Joel throughout his North American run. Tickets to Sting’s upcoming ticket dates can be purchased here.
In addition to Sting, Bourbon & Beyond 2024 will feature headlining performances from Zach Bryan, Dave Matthews Band, and Tyler Childers. Fleet Foxes, The War on Drugs, Black Pumas, Beck, The National, Matchbox 20, Maren Morris, Teddy Swims, Melissa Etheridge, The Beach Boys, My Morning Jacket, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Arlo Parks are also set to play Bourbon & Beyond 2024.
