Former Vanderpump Rules star Brittany Cartwright shares the reason she didn’t watch season 9. However, she still keeps up to date on the cast.
Former Vanderpump Rules star Brittany Cartwright recently shared that she didn’t watch season 9 because watching the show makes her anxious. Brittany was first introduced to fans in season 4 as Jax Taylor’s love interest. The Kentucky native was a breath of fresh air for the cast, with her southern charm and easygoing nature. Before long, Brittany moved in with Jax and started working for Lisa Vanderpump at SUR, cementing her role in Vanderpump Rules as a full cast member.
Brittany’s time on Vanderpump Rules was marred when it was revealed in season 6 that Jax had cheated on her with former cast member Faith Stowers. Infuriated, Brittany threw Jax out of their house. Jax then broke up with Brittany, telling her that he was no good at being in relationships. When Jax’s father passed away, Jax leaned on Brittany for support, and they ended up getting back together. Although Jax swore up and down that he and Faith only slept together one time, Faith shared later on that they had been together multiple times.
After Vanderpump Rules season 8, Jax was fired from the show following the revelation that he had tweeted a racially insensitive comment about Faith. Brittany was subsequently let go by Bravo as well. Brittany recently shared on Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef that while she stayed in touch with her former cast members, she didn’t watch Vanderpump Rules season 9 She admitted, “I was never much of a reality TV watcher…and I also get, like, anxiety or something. I don’t know, it makes me, like, anxious.” Brittany added that when watching other reality shows and then seeing the reunion, she says to herself, “I know what you’re going through right now. That is so, so intimidating.”
Despite no longer being on Vanderpump Rules, Brittany shared that she hopes the show “goes on forever” and that the cast does well, but she prefers to support them in other ways. The beer cheese maker remains close friends with Lala Kent, Scheana Shay, Katie Maloney, and former star Stassi Schroeder. Brittany, Lala, Scheana, and Stassi all got pregnant and had babies around the same time, and she told David that she, Lala, and Stassi all attend Mommy & Me classes together with their kids. Brittany, who had her son, Cruz, first, envisions their kids growing up together and boasts that Cruz is already a “ladies’ man.”
When asked if she would ever return to Vanderpump Rules, Brittany said that she would defer to her husband’s decision. Jax was on the show since season 1, and was often the center of many storylines. He and Lisa were particularly close, and she often tried to guide him away from his wayward tendencies. Brittany shared that, sadly, Lisa doesn’t keep in touch as often as they would like. However, she did send them gifts for Cruz a few weeks after his birth. Although Brittany misses being on Vanderpump Rules, she admitted that her life has been a lot more peaceful off-camera.
