On The Bachelorette season 20, Charity Lawson and Joey Graziadei are falling in love with each other, but, during Joey’s hometown date, his uncle expressed some doubt about their relationship. Charity and Joey felt an immediate connection on premiere night when they had a beautiful conversation. Although they didn’t kiss, they made up for it on a group date during which they broke the Bachelor Nation record for the longest kiss at 4 minutes and 25 seconds. On their one-on-one date, Joey told Charity that he’s falling in love with her. In her confessional, Charity said that she felt the same way.
In a sneak peek of The Bachelorette season 20 episode 6 shared on Instagram, Joey’s beloved uncle wondered if Joey was really the best match for Charity.
The clip began with Joey saying that he was falling in love with Charity. During his hometown date, the tennis pro, who is also an instructor, surprised Charity by giving her a private lesson. Joey was shocked when his uncle joined them on the date because he didn’t think that he was going to be there. He revealed that his uncle was his mentor and the person who made him into the man he is today.
Joey Graziadei’s Uncle Admits Something Didn’t Feel “100 Percent”
In his confessional, Joey’s uncle shared that he liked Charity, but “something didn’t feel 100 percent with Joey.” He couldn’t pinpoint what specifically it was, but it was “more just a feeling.” He expressed that he wanted to look Joey in the eye, and see if he was really thinking things through. Joey’s uncle was hoping to find out more that night.
On The Bachelorette season 20, Joey and Charity have been headed down a path that could lead to an engagement since they met. However, hometown dates can be a big wake-up call for couples as family members get involved. They are often the voices of reason, bringing their loved ones back down to Earth from Cloud 9, and making them face reality. Whatever it is that is causing Joey’s uncle to feel concerned needs to be addressed, but hopefully it won’t ruin Joey and Charity’s relationship.
As Charity visits the hometowns of Joey, Aaron Bryant, Dotun Olubeko, and Xavier Bonner, she’ll have to make the difficult decision to send someone home and invite the others to the Fantasy Suites. Joey seems like a perfect match for Charity, so it’s surprising that a close family member isn’t seeing that. Hopefully, the issue with Joey’s uncle will be resolved so that Charity can continue to explore her connection with Joey. They are falling in love, and deserve to explore whether their relationship could lead to an engagement.
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
