The rock project Many Miles Away unveiled their debut self-titled album Friday March 24, 2023 to the wider world. The full-length record is filled with hard driving rock n roll, infectious ballads, and a plethora of talent. Out in front is the vocals of Michael Shapiro and the sensational guitar work of Miles Schon, both the project’s masterminds.
No two songs sound alike, each have their own edgy flair. After their release of two prior singles from the album their popularity soared, and the record was highly anticipated and has been well received. Each song has a direct theme and personality and can be streamed on all digital platforms.
Miles Schon is the son of Journey guitarist Neal Schon but can already out riff his dad with his fiery solos and intense music shifts. Miles has played with a bunch of icons including Jonathan Cain, Grammy winner Will Champlin, Jane’s Addiction’s Stephen Perkins, Pink Floyd’s Scott Page, and a host of others.
Michael Shapiro’s vocals have been heard onstage with bands including Great White, Cheap Trick and The Ramones as well his own band Reckless in Vegas. He has even jammed with the great Bruce Springsteen. Shapiro just finished a residency in the famous Sahara hotel in Las Vegas.
Many Miles Away is driven, sexy, adventurous and can tell a musical tale. They are both excellent musicians, and both have the ability to write a cool song. Their album is a journey which reflects their own separate destinies with a rocking collaboration that was just meant to be….
