Charlie Cale has been on the run since the end of Poker Face episode 1, and a slip-up in episode 6 is once again putting her life in jeopardy.
Warning: Contains spoilers for Poker Face episode 6.Rian Johnson’s Poker Face follows Charlie (Natasha Lyonne) while she is on the run, but in episode 6 she has revealed her location once again. Though each episode has revolved around a different murder case in a different location, Charlie is still on the run from Sterling Frost Sr., Cliff, and Kazimir Caine. Fearing for her life, Charlie has been doing her best to be careful, but she still slips up from time to time, and Poker Face episode 6 provided another example of this.
With Charlie’s detective work, Rian Johnson is continuing his hot streak. Johnson’s abilities in creating cases and writing intriguing, unique detectives may make it tempting for viewers to forget that the overarching plot of the series revolves around Charlie being on the run. While Charlie is out on the road solving crimes, there are three men who won’t rest until she’s dead. Her jobs have offered her interesting connections and cases, but the case in Poker Face episode 6 secretly gave up her location.
Charlie Going Onstage In Poker Face Episode 6 Will Be Another Viral Moment
Poker Face episode 4, “Rest In Metal,” and episode 6, “Exit Stage Death,” both feature murders taking place on a stage, with one being at a heavy metal concert and the other at a dinner theater. While Poker Face episode 3 had a performer-adjacent storyline with the usage of radio stars, episodes 4 and 6 set up the perfect opportunities for Charlie to be the subject of viral videos/stories, subsequently giving away her location. In Poker Face episode 4, the accidental viral video led to the closest call she’s had with Cliff yet
While she saved Rebecca’s life, Charlie’s Poker Face episode 6 decision to go onstage will surely put Charlie in some hot water. Giving a monologue in front of a packed house during a show that led to the very public arrest of former Spooky and the Cop stars Kathleen Townsend and Michael Graves is sure to attract attention. When the story hits the news and social media, it is likely that someone might recognize her from her viral video in episode 4, which can easily mean that Charlie has secretly given up her location once again.
Will Charlie Actually Take Agent Clark’s Offer In Poker Face?
Poker Face gave Charlie an easy way to stop Caine in episode 5 that would help keep herself protected from him, Cliff, and Sterling. Agent Clark (Simon Helberg) was impressed by her being a natural lie detector as well as her detective smarts, and Clark asked if she ever thought about joining the FBI. Charlie told him, “I’m not really about helping the man,” but she had previously reached out to them in an attempt to stop Caine, meaning there is a part of her that’s willing to at least accept their help.
Just after Charlie rejected Clark’s FBI offer, she almost died in an explosion caused by Joyce and Irene (played by S. Epatha Merkerson and Judith light respectively, continuing a Rian Johnson tradition of having high-profile guest stars/cameos in his projects). Most of these guest stars appear in just one episode in Poker Face‘s 10-episode season 1, but Helberg is slated to appear in two episodes, meaning it’s likely that Charlie will at least use the number Agent Clark gave her. Charlie’s very close brush with death and what’s bound to be another viral moment could cause a change of heart in the Poker Face lead character.
