It seems like the worst thing that happened to dinosaurs after the asteroid was Jurassic World: Dominion given its terrible reviews, with many fans of the franchise expressing how deeply disappointed they were with the movie. But despite the bad ratings and divided audiences on Jurassic Park‘s sequels, plenty of fans still love to go to the movie theater to watch their beloved dinosaurs be a threat to humanity once again because of irresponsible scientists, computer programmers, investors, and politicians.
Dinosaurs are extraordinary creatures and it is fascinating to see them on the big screen. With seven movies about their adventures, it’s hard to keep track of their doings, but luckily there are some hilarious memes that can sum it all up.
10 Mosquitos With Dinasour DNA Got Trapped In Amber
A very educational video in the first Jurassic Park movie explains that blood contains enough DNA to recover all the information needed about an organism and clone it. So the park’s geneticists, guided by John Hammond, recollected mosquitos that were trapped in amber for centuries – that fairly looked like Aladdin and Abu- and therefore, had sucked on dinosaurs’ blood.
The missing code in the dinosaur’s DNA was completed with the genetic code of frogs, which was quite a creative solution. Fortunately, none of the dinosaurs acquired the frog’s exceptional large and sticky tongues, because if that was the case, Rexy would have caught more than a few people.
9 John Hammond Brought Dinasours Back To Life
There are seven movies that followed the legacy of Jurassic Park, and it all started because of John Hammond, the CEO of InGen who founded and financed the park. Thanks to him, audiences’ jaws dropped when they saw astonishing dinosaurs in the movie theatre for the first time.
Jurassic Park is considered one of the old movies that should be watched at the cinema because seeing imposing dinosaurs on the big screen is an experience like no other. If audiences were impressed watching them from a distance, nobody can imagine what Hammond must have felt being there. He was blinded by their beauty, and consequently, he put his own grandchildren in danger and ate comfort ice cream because of his failures.
8 Nublar Is The Beginning Of Everything
Despite Hammond making some questionable decisions, nobody can deny that at least he thought of isolating the park on an island to keep dinosaurs away from the human population. He started his project on Isla Nublar, and although he failed in his attempt to open Jurassic Park, Jurassic World was successful for a decade.
However, nature seemed to really not like the idea of humans playing god and bringing back to life creatures that were extinct millions of years ago, and the volcano of the island became active. The behavioral reaction the dinosaurs have to the eruption are things Jurassic Park gets wrong about them, but humans’ reactions are accurate, and they look fairly similar to Gru’s.
7 Life Finds A Way
“Life finds a way” is one of the movie quotes most used in daily life by fans of the franchise, and it was first used by Ian Malcolm, who despite being a mathematician, seemed to have more common sense about dinosaurs and nature than any other scientist in the films.
In Jurassic Park, they only clone female dinosaurs to avoid reproduction, however, they become sequential hermaphrodites. In a depiction of Noah’s Ark – where female and male animals were supposed to board to replenish stock – two male lions can be seen boarding, and who knows, maybe they do something similar to their dinosaur predecessors that didn’t have the opposite sex to breed with.
6 Dinosaurs Get Out Of Control And Roar… A Lot
In all the films, whenever dinosaurs make an entrance they do their distinctive roar to let everybody know they have arrived. This is especially true for every fan’s favorite dinosaur: the T-Rex. It is difficult to imagine them without it, and it could be considered their signature move.
However, scientists suggest that it is more probable that dinosaurs sounded more like a crocodile or a goose. Given that these animals are the closest living descendants of dinosaurs their theory is understandable, although Jurassic Park would feel a lot different without their iconic roars, like if the films had been massacred.
5 Herbivores Are Friendly… Most Of The Time
Hervibores dinosaurs are significantly friendlier than their fellow carnivores species, which attack anything they consider their next meal. Nevertheless, herbivores may become aggressive if they feel threatened, and some characters in the movies have felt their rage, especially Claire.
In the latest film, Claire was chased by the terrifying herbivore Therizinosaurus, who proved to be just as fierce, scary, and violent as a velociraptor and a T-Rex. Jurassic World characters could only wish every herbivore was like the Brachiosaurus.
4 Rex Are Slow
The T-Rex in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World is considered one of the movie characters with absurd weaknesses due to their lack of good eyesight, which has made Rexy lose more than one meal throughout all of the films.
Yes, they are terrifying to look at, however, beyond their blindness, their main problem is that they are slow. Even in the films, they are faster than they were in real life, and even then, unforgettably, Claire was able to outrun one in her high heels.
3 Raptors Appreciate The Art Of Opening Doors
Being reborn millions of years ahead of their time may have startled them at the beginning when they faced technologically advanced machinery such as electric fences and doors with handles, however, velociraptors are smart creatures and they always find their way around.
Their high intelligence has been constantly proven throughout all the films, but nobody can forget the iconic scene when Lex and Tim Murphy were trapped in the kitchen and a velociraptor learned how to open the handle of the door and make its way in to hunt children.
2 Humans Never Learn
It doesn’t matter how many times characters see the devastating effects of cloning dinosaurs and capitalizing on their existence for entertainment, there’s always another film where humans want to preserve them and control them for their own benefit.
But for Jurassic Park and Jurassic World characters, there are not enough lessons throughout the movies to stop cloning, breeding, and genetically modifying dinosaurs, as apparently, there are not enough Jurassic Park films that could stop real scientists from trying to do the same.
1 Last Movies Have Divided Audiences
Jurassic World: Dominion received bad reviews from movie critics and its own fanbase, but regardless of the film’s terrible reputation, some fans loved it. The first Jurassic Park film was critically acclaimed but the sequels have not been so equally praised by most.
While fans can agree that the first film is a masterpiece, there’s constant debate about the quality of the remaining six movies that have been released in the past years. Is highly unlikely that the different opinions about the last movies will stop future movies from being made, after all, everyone always wants to see dinosaurs come to life.
