Survivor is coming back this fall with a brand new season in the new era. Some former castaways have left a legacy during their time on the island as they have left records that have not been touched yet.
These records, both good and bad, are held by fan favorites, notorious villains, or one-time players. Some are looked at as unbeatable, while others could have a new record holder soon. Regardless, they stand as impressive milestones that didn’t come easy for most.
10 Most Confessionals – Russel Hantz
Confessionals are an important part of the game that let the viewers know what the players think, so the castaways who are more active in the game receive more confessionals. In Survivor: Samoa, Russel received 108 confessionals throughout the season, which is the most for one season.
Russel achieved this number since he made it to the end of the game and was a very dynamic player. This is an incredibly high number that most likely will not be topped again – even more so now that season is shortened by a few days. The player with the most confessionals in Survivor 42 was Mike at 57, so it seems Russel’s record will stand for a while.
9 Oldest Survivor – Rudy Boesch
The oldest contestant ever was Rudy in Survivor: All-Stars, as he was 75. He also competed a few years earlier in Survivor: Borneo when he was 72.
Rudy made it very far in his first season, but on all-stars, his age was a liability as he was voted out early. He will most likely be the oldest contestant ever to play, as the hardship of the game makes it difficult for older people to compete. Joe on Survivor: Kaôh Rōng challenged his record when he was 72, but he had to leave at the final five due to a medical emergency, so that might have put an end to contestants over 70.
8 Most Days Played Without Getting Voted Out – Amanda Kimmel
The record for most days played without getting voted off the island goes to Amanda from Survivor: China, Micronesia, and Heroes vs Villains. She went a total of 108 days before she got voted off on her final season.
Amanda made it to the final tribal in both of her two seasons but never won as she lost to one of the best Survivor players ever in Parvati in Survivor: Micronesia. She was voted out for the first time in her last season on day 30 as she came in ninth place. This is a tough record for someone to beat since they would need to play multiple seasons and have to make it to the end multiple times. Plus, the seasons being shortened to only 26 days will make it extremely hard.
7 Most Votes Cast Against In One Season – Laura Morett
The record for most votes cast against a player in one season is Laura from Survivor: Blood vs Water. There were 19 votes cast against her this season.
Laura gained these votes since she was voted out and reentered the game since she won redemption island duels. She got voted off on two 7-1 vote, plus stray votes from other tribals, which were enough to get her the record over previous record holders Phillip, who was commonly regarded as an undeserving finalist, and Ozzy. This record most likely will only get broken if Survivor reintroduces another comeback island.
6 Most Times Evicted In The Same Season – Ozzy Lusth
Fan favorite Ozzy has a record that no one would want to break. He was evicted three times in the same season. In Ozzy’s third season, Survivor: South Pacific, there was the Redemption Island twist that meant players could win themselves back into the game.
When Ozzy was voted off the first time, he told his tribe to do it so that when he wins the duel, they can have numbers in the merge. When Cochran flipped on the tribe, Ozzy was voted out a second time. His stay on Redemption Island was longer, but he won his way back into the game again. He was voted off again in the final four for the last time. Ozzy later had one more disappointing return in a later season.
5 Longest Challenge – Palau’s Final Immunity
The longest challenge in the history of the show was the final immunity in Survivor: Palau. This endurance challenge lasted 11 hours and 55 minutes.
The premise of the challenge was the final three contestants had to stand on a buoy in the water and not fall off. The last survivor standing won. Tom and Ian battled it out against each other for the majority of the time before Ian gave the win to Tom as an apology for his earlier actions. Survivor will probably not do a challenge like this again, as five hours is considered long for a challenge in the modern version.
4 Fewest Days Played By A Winner – Chris Underwood
Chris was the winner of Survivor: Edge of Extinction even though he only played 13 days in the actual game. He was voted out on day eight and went to the Edge of Extinction.
Chris showed signs of distrust, so his alliance flipped on him and voted him out early. He stayed on the edge until day 35, when he won himself back into the game. He then went on to claim nine jury votes to win sole survivor. His gutsy move to battle Devens himself when he had immunity might have won him the game.
3 Individual Immunity Wins In A Career – Rob Mariano
Rob, or Boston Rob, was one of the most entertaining Sirvivor players ever, and he also has the most individual immunity wins throughout his Survivor career, which spans five seasons. Rob won nine individual immunities during his time on the island.
Rob did not win one in his first season, Survivor: Marquesas, but won three in Survivor: All Stars. In Survivor: Heroes vs Villains, he won one, and in Redemption Island, which was the season he took home the title of sole survivor, he claimed individual immunity four times. This record will most likely stay for a long time since it appears Survivor is in a new era, so they most likely will not bring any old players back.
2 Most Voted Nullified With An Idol – Kelley Wentworth
The record for the most votes blocked with one idol is nine, which was done by Kelley Wentworth. She nullified nine votes in Survivor: Second Chance.
Kelley used her idol to blindside Andrew Savage at the final 12. She received nine votes at this tribal but used her idol, which no one knew she had, to negate all the votes. She then used her vote to get rid of Savage. For someone to beat this record, there would need to be a perfect storm of circumstances, as there would have to be enough people, and the player would need to use their idol correctly.
1 Highest Placing Player To Never Survive A Tribal – Nick Maiorano
The final record is an interesting one. The record for the player who placed the highest without ever surviving a tribal council was Nick in Survivor: Kaôh Rōng when he came in 10th place.
Nick never had the opportunity to go to tribal during the pre-merge since his tribes won all of their challenges. The first tribal after the merge was canceled since there was a medical evacuation, and Nick had immunity here, so he would have been safe. He lost the next immunity challenge and was blindsided at his first tribal, coming in 10th. This is an odd record but could be beaten if the situation is correct. With the less amount of days, however, it might be tough for a player not to attend tribal for so long.
