Hawley told CNN’s Manu Raju:
I don’t regret anything I did on that day. And you know, it’s a privilege to be attacked by the January 6th Committee. I want to say thank you for all the help with my fundraising. It’s been tremendous.
…
This is just an attempt to troll. And listen, I don’t regret anything I did on that day. And the reason I’m being attacked by the January 6th Committee is because I’m in their way. The stand that I took is one that I don’t regret and one I won’t back down from.
Josh Hawley is not in the 1/6 Committee’s way. Hawley is in the Senate. The 1/6 Committee is in the House. The Missouri senator was in full spin mode. The 1/6 Committee humiliated him and revealed Hawley to be a hypocrite and a fraud.
Sen. Hawley can pretend like the embarrassment has been a boon to his fundraising, but the reality is that Hawley has now been defined in pop culture terms as a fist-pumping coward who runs like Hanna-Barbera character.
Hawley was deemed a laughingstock by one of his home state newspapers. Sen. Hawley says that he doesn’t regret trying to overthrow the government, but his spin was pathetic. Josh Hawley has been forever damaged by the 1/6 Committee.
